  • The German national broadcaster, NDR, has confirmed the country's participation in Junior Eurovision 2021.

Germany will be present in the next Junior Eurovision Song Contest that will take place in France. Within an interview to ESCKompaKt Thomas Schreiber, NDR's Head of Entertainment,  confirmed the nation second participation in Junior Eurovision.

    Schreiber said:

"I'm happy to give you the view: yes, Germany will be at JESC 2021."

Ulrike Ziesemer (Head of Delegation JESC) says on the German participation:

“Looking back, I am very proud of what our debutante Susan and the entire team have achieved. In our first year, we “did everything ourselves” in an extremely short time, from finding the candidate to producing the music video to the show video with KiKA and ZDF - and that despite various hurdles that Corona in particular faces Put away. Of course we would have liked a better placement, but with the programs that we produced for KiKA and Das Erste in the week before the show, we were very successful in terms of both content and reach. Now we have learned a lot and are looking forward to Paris! "

Last year was Germany's debut appearance in the competition. The nation was represened by Susan with the song "Stronger With You" which finished in 12th place with 66 points.
