The Netherlands: Junior Songfestival 2021 commences with the auditions round

The Netherlands has commenced its search for the next Junior Eurovision as auditions for Junior Songfestival took place this week.
Following the submission period that closed in December, The Netherlands are moving on with the Junior Eurovision 2021 national selection process with the auditions for the next edition of Junior Songfestival, the format the country has been using to determine its JESC act and entries.
The acts that advanced to the auditions are:

- Ayana from Bussum
- Beau from Deventer
- Boele from Amstelveen
- Britte from Baarn
- Camiel from Nijmegen
- Ceder from Alkmaar
- Daan from Assendelft
- Faye from Amsterdam
- Fieke from Fijnaart
- Jade from Almere
- Jestéy from Hoofdorp
- Juliette from Wormer
- Lilia from Capelle a / d IJssel
- Loïs from Uden
- Luca from Maastricht
- Lyova from Duiven
- Milika from Dordrecht
- Mirre from Amsterdam
- Nanice from Nootdorp
- Pietje from Utrecht
- Priscilla from Doetinchem

The Netherlands in Junior Eurovision
The Netherlands has been participating in the contest since day 1 in 2003 and haven’t missed a year. In 2009 they won the competition and have achieved nine times to finish in the top 10 places. The country’s worst place came in 2015 when it finished 15th. In 2018 the country was represented by the duo Max & Anne and their entry Samen, which finished in 13th place with 91 points.
In 2019, Matheu represented the nation in Gliwice with his song "Dans met jou" which finished in the 4th place with 186 points. Last year the girls group Unity won the national selection and flew the flag in Warsaw with their song "Best Friends" which finished 4th with a total of 132 points, 68 points from the juries (5th) and 64 points from the public vote (4th).
