Spain: Carlos Higes releases his Junior Eurovision 2022 song “Señorita”

  • The Spanish Junior Eurovision 2022 representative, Carlos Higes, has dropped his song for Yerevan titled  “Señorita”.

    The song Señorita”  that Carlos Higes will be performing in Yerevan, Armenia representing Spain at the 20th Junior Eurovision has been released along with its official music video.

    After choosing through audition Carlos to fly the flag in Yerevan RTVE has launched the process of selecting the most suitable song for the Spanish hopeful in Yerevan receiving over 245 songs from which Senorita was selected as the moth appropriate one for Carlos. 

    The music video came out during an ad break on Dúos increíbles on La 1 and on RTVE Play and was shot along the Turia river in Valencia. A very dynamic and cheerful letter of introduction ofr the Spanish hoepful: a theme with urban-Latin dyes, with a very catchy lyric and a video clip that portrays some of the most representative corners of the artist's hometown, Valencia

     

    A few words for Carlos

    Carlos Higes (15/09/2011) is a singer, actor and model born in Valencia who has just turned 11. A child of innate talent, cheerful, funny and hardworking who dreams of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest since he was 4 years old, when Jamala won the trophy at Eurovision 2016. He is a fan of Justin Bieber and Sebastián Yatraand, among the Eurovision,Chanel and Blas Cantó, our last representatives in the European music contest.

    A good student, he loves languages and speaking English and his favorite subjects are Natural Sciences, Language and French. After school, where he attends 6th grade, he plays futsal and continues his artistic training with singing and piano lessons. He has participated in several talent contests on television ('Idol Kids', 'La Voz'), and has also made forays into the world of fashion and acting.

     

    Spain in Junior Eurovision

    Spain has a total of five participations in the youth competition and has achieved remarkable results in its short history. The country counts a victory thanks to  "Antes muerta que sencilla" (Before dead than simple) by María Isabel (2004) , two second places ( Sergio, in 2003  and  Antonio José, in 2005 ) and a fourth position ( Dani Fernández, in 2006 ).

    Spain returned to the competition in the 2019 edition after 13 years of absence  and did it with an impressive. The young talented act starred in a memorable performance with "Marte" (Mars)  on the  stage of Gliwice-Silesia and achieved to finish in 3rd place. In 2020 the nation was represented by Soleá who performed the song 'Palante' which finished thrid on the overall scoreboard with 133 points. 

    Last year Levi Diaz was selected to fly the flag in Paris with his song 'Reir' which eventually finished in the 15th place with 77 points which marked the first non top-5 placing for Spain in his JESC history.
