  • The TV viewing numbers for the 20th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest are really impressive once again. 

    This year Junior Eurovision Contest turned 20 and the organization, the hosting, the visuals and the whole set up demonstrate how the contest is growing. 

    In addition the TV viewing numbers is one more element confirming the contest is growing in terms of reach and acceptance around the globe. 

    Let's go and check the tv ratings in some of the participating countries: 

     

    France

    An average of 1.11 million viewers reaching at 1,8 million when Lissandro won the 2nd trophy for France. 

     

    The Netherlands

    279,000 viewers on average (12,7% share) an increase just under 40% comparing to the viewing numbers in 2021. 

     

    Spain

    1,183,000 million viewers watched the final (10.1 % share in the overall audience and 15.1% share for the ages 13-24) which is the biggest audience since 2019. 

     

    Italy

    A total of 1,523,000 viewers watched the Final (a 11,7% share) which is the the largest among the broadcasters reported up to date.

     

    Portugal

    A total of 319,400 viewers tuned in the Junior Eurovision final broadcast having a  3.4/8.8% share in the audience with that number peaking during the show at  4.6/11.2%.

     

    Germany

    A total of 170,000 viewers followed the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on KiKa (2,1% share). A slight drop of 60.000 viewers compared to 2021. 

     

    Ireland

    An average of 15,300 viewers watched the JESC final live from Yerevan, Armenia. Even though in numbers the amount dropped 7000 the share went up from 0,91 to 2,1% comparing to 2021. 

     

    Poland 

    An average of 2,100,000 viewers  (15.1% share) tuned in the Junior Eurovision 2022 final with the number reaching 3,2 million at its peak which is lower than the peak number in 2018 when Poland won the contest in Misk, Belarus.

     

    United Kingdom

    Over 700,000 viewers watched the final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 on BBC 1 and CBBC. The numbers to compare with are those of 2005 when the UK last participated, when the live broadcast on ITV2 was followed by 171,000 viewers

     

    Serbia

    32, 503 viewers tuned into RTS2 & RTS Svet to watch the final of Junior Eurovision 2022 (1,25 % share) the lowest among participating countries. 

     

    The overall impression for this year's TV audience is more than positive. With some up and downs in some countries the actual numbers for TV audience is showcasing how the contest is progressively growing reaching out to even a wider audience across the contintent and worldwide.
