JESC 2022 Rehearsals Day Two: |The rest nine countries run their first rehearsal

  • Junior Eurovision 2022 rehearsals continued today in Yerevan at at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex with the rest nine countries taking the stage. 

    Time to rehearse for the rest nine delegates of this year's contest, with the rehearsals moving forward with the second set of nine contestants. First rehearsals are not open to the press and material for the rehearsing countries is shared throughout the day on the official Junior Eurovision website

    Here are  how the rehearsals unfolded in Yerevan today: 

     

    The Nethelrands - Luna

    Luna was the first act to rehearse today bringing her festive mood on the stage in Yerevan. Luna won this year's Junior Songfestival with the song 'La Festa' and secured her spot in the JESC 2022 class. Luna Sabella, known professionally as Luna, is a twelve-year-old singer that has taken part in the 11th season of The Voice Kids. 

    Luna took the stage in coloourful shiny bright scenery that all fits a festive atmosphere. She appeared on stage wearing a sparklin eletric pink suit with a light green top under it. Her four backing dancers are dressed in shiny shades of green creating a 70's-80's disco style staging. Colors, lights and motion convey to the audience that festive mood throughtout the song inviting everyone to join the party!

     

    Italy - Chanel Dilecta

    Up next for her first rehearsal came Italy hopeful, Chanel Dilecta singing 'Bla Bla Bla'. The song was composed by Marco Iardella and was penned by Carmine Spera, Fabrizio Palaferri, Angela Senatore.

    It's time for action and motivation for the young generations. Anything less is just empty words that cannot contribute to the problems this earth is facing. Bight colors with a floral background feature Chanel's staging indicating optimism that lays on young's people determination.

    Chanel Dilecta Apolloni has been studying singing and ballet since the age of 4, along with piano,modern dance and the performing arts. She is an all-round performer who has already participated in international competitions such as the TMF (Tour Music Fest) 2021, the Italian Performer Cup and the talent The Coach.In her spare time Chanel Dilecta designs jewelry, has a passion for reading, knitting and enjoys solving Rubik's cubes. He lives in Thiene, in the province of Vicenza, with her family and his toothless dog called Rambo.

     

    Kazakhstan - David Charlin

    Third rehearsal for today coming from Kazakhstan's representative David Charlin who sings about mother earth with 'Jer-Ana'

    David is 11 year old and hails from the city of Almaty in Kazahhstan. After winning the  Baqytty Bala 2022 (Happy Child) children’s vocal competition, which Khabar TV decided to be the format to determine the nation's hopeful for Yerevan. David Charlin won the competition competing against 21 acts from Kazakhstan and other countries. 

    David takes the stages dressed in total white . White trouses paired with a cross-belly shirt on top. The background demonstrates images of the earth showcasing the environmental issues of global warming and polution by humans. David's entry is a wake up call for action for mother earth. 

     

    4. United Kingdom - Freya Skye

    The United Kingdom is back in the Junior Eurovision family since 2005 and is back in the game with talented Freya Skye and her song 'Lose my head'. 

    The 13-year-old singer, who hails from Buckinghamshire, developed a love of singing after receiving a karaoke machine as a present when she was five. During lockdown, she took the opportunity to release her debut single and write more songs, including I Love The Way, which was featured on BBC Introducing.

    Freya's staging is dominated by red color. Very stylish dressing as she wears a skirt paired with a croped top. Her backing dancers also wear skirts combined with long sleve t-shirts on top. All of them are in total red. 

     

    5.Ireland- Sophie Lennon

    The Irish JESC 2022 hopeful, Sophie Lennon, is the next delegate to take the stage for her first run of rehearsals. Sophie bring on stage her 'Light' which is the meaning of her song 'Solas'. The entry has been written and composed by Niall Mooney, Jonas Gladnikoff, Matthew Ker, Hannah Featherstone and Ken McHugh. Notably, Niall Mooney has penned alll the Irish Junior Eurovision entries since 2018, while Jonas has been behind the composition for the Irish Eurovision entries of 2009, 2010 and 2014 and three Irish Junior Eurovision entries (2015, 2018 and 2019).

    Sophie Lennon hails from Mayobridge in County Down in Northern Ireland. From a young age she has been performing on stages among which several TV  shows such as Ireland’s Got Talent and The Late Late Toy Show. She had taken part  also in the Irish selection  of Junior Eurovision Éire 2021 when she reached the final finishing third.

    Sophie appears on stage wearing an impressive dress as she's stepped out a Sindarella fairtale in colors of gold. She delivers her song in a background of warm sunset colors and Lighthouse image displayed on the backdrop connecting us with the music video of the song. Jundging from her vocal performance in the national final we expect to listen to a captivating performance. 

     

    6. France - Lissandro

    Rehearsal continue with the first rehearsal of Lissandro the French representative. Lissandro has brought his song 'Oh Maman' in Yerevan. 

    Lissandro is 13 years old and comes from Théding in Moselle in eastern France. Lissandro is inspired by the world of rock, withhis references ranging from Elvis Presley to Bruno Mars. In 2020, he took part in the 7th edition of the Voice Kids France where here reached the final show. In the same edition was Enzo who represented France last year on home soil in Paris with 'Tic-Tac'.

    This young man judging from the first impression has start quality. We can easily imagine him after years holding big concerts and young girl fans screaming for him. He shines on stage wearing casual sporty clothes. Black jeans with a white t-shirt paired with a black sparkling college style jacket. Simplicity with a sparkle touch is all you need to be a star and Lissandro delivers that on stage and when some fireworks are added in makes the whole thing spectacular. 

     

    7. Spain - Carlos Higes

    Up next for his firsr rehearsal Carlos Higes from Spain carrying on stage his latin vibes with 'Senorita'Carlos Higes (15/09/2011) is a singer, actor and model born in Valencia who has just turned 11. A child of innate talent, cheerful, funny and hardworking who dreams of participating in the Eurovision Song Contest since he was 4 years old, when Jamala won the trophy at Eurovision 2016.

    The Spanish hopeful is a fan of Justin Bieber and Sebastián Yatraand, among the Eurovision,Chanel and Blas Cantó. A good student, he loves languages and speaking English and his favorite subjects are Natural Sciences, Language and French. He has participated in several talent contests on television ('Idol Kids', 'La Voz'), and has also made forays into the world of fashion and acting.

    Carlos appears on stage in total white along with his four backing dancers also all in white clothes. hite trousers with a white T-shirt with a high neckline and a long white jacket make up his dressing. A theme with tropical-Latin dyes as pines are displayed on the backdrop, motion combined with a very catchy lyric make up a budding Ricky Martin style star.

     

     8. Georgia - Mariam Bigvava

    It's time for the country with most trophies in the competition, Georgia and their hopeful, Mariam Bigvava to go through her first rehearsal of her power ballad 'I Believe'

    Mariam's entry has been composed by Giga Kukhianidze and Beni Kadagidze and penned by Iru Kchechanov. It's remarkable that Giga Kukhianidze has been behind the compsition of 11 Georgian Junior Eurovision entries among which three victorious songs. Back in June this year Mariam Bigvava won the televised competition 'Ranina 2022' and secured the right to represent Georgia at the 20th edition of Junior Eurovision.

    Mariam takes the stages rehearsing in sport casual clothes. We assume that her final dressing will come the following day. Jugding from her vocal skills theres's no doubt that she is plays strong in the game for that trophy having Georgia's good tradition on her side. 

     

    9. Armenia - Nare

    Last but not least the host nation's act, Nare, is closing the first round of reheasals with he uptempo pop song 'Dance!'. A clear invitation by the Armenian hopeful to put our dancing shoes on and start dancing and dancing and dancing. 

    14-year-old Nare Ghazaryan has been selected through auditions. Behind the music of the song are Grigor Kyokchyan and Nick Egibyan. The song has been penned by Grigor Kyokchyan while the arrangement is a work of Nick Egibyan. 

    Nare takes the stage waering a electic fuchsia short jacket on top with a short silver sparkling dress under it. Her two male backing dancer wear balck jeans with white shirts paired with the same silver speakling jackets while her two female dancer have on a darker silver spakling dress. The sparkling clothes along with the tempo and the catchy lyrics certainly take us to Nara's big dancefloor.
