Sweden: These are the P4 Nästa 2020 eight finalists

• Sveriges Radio has revealed the eight artists that have made it to the final of P4 Nästa 2020 that is set for September 12, 2020.

   

  Following the 25 regional selections that determined a total of 25 acts , a jury took over to select eight acts that qualified to the final show of P4 Nästa 2020.  

   

  The eight acts that made it to the final are: 

   

   

  P4 Skaraborg: Alicja Jern - Friendzone

  P4 Västmanland : Sanna feat. Re: bond - Aldrig det

  P4 Jämtland: Amskøld - Stand by

  P4 Västernorrland: Nina Bring - Nära

  P4 Värmland : Northlight - Equally Different 

  P4 Malmöhus: Hilde & Erik - Som det är

  P4 Kronoberg : Agnes Rehn - Goodbye

  P4 Stockholm : Julia Alfrida - Dark Room

   

  Through a live radio show set to take place on September 12 the public will determine the final winner while a jury will decide which act will compete in the next edition of Melodifestivalen. 

   

  About P4 Nästa

  P4 Nästa is a music competition program in Sweden's Radio P4 and a nationwide talent hunt since 2008 . The aim of the competition is to find new artists and new music for the future. All 25 P4 districts participate in the competition where each of the districts nominates a winner. Thereafter, a jury, appointed by the Swedish Radio, selects eight of these grants to compete in a final. 

  In addition to the winning artist being airplayed on radio, he (since 2012) is also offered a place in the upcoming Melodifestivel. However, the winning artist must write a new contribution (or receive a newly written contribution) to the Melodifestivalen, since the winner radio contest can not be used in the Melodifestivalen because it must comply with EBU rules that want all entries released after September 1. 

  However the wildcard for Melodifestivalen is not compulsory to be given to the winner but it can be awarded also, by the special SVT jury, to another competing act of the radio contest.
