Eurovision2024: Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman to host the contest in Malmö.

Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman will have the honour to to host the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö.
While countries across Europe are holding their national selections for the next contest, the organisers of the next Eurovision revealed today that Presenter Petra Mede and actress Malin Åkerman will be the hosts of the forthcoming contest in Malmo.
About Pedra
Petra Mede is no stranger to the Eurovision audience as she has was the host of Eurovision 2013 and Eurovision 2016 alongside Måns Zelmerlöw. Who can forget their impressive performance during the interval act Love, Love, Peace, Peace.
In Sweden she's one of the most beloved presenters as she started her career as a comedian before moving to television presentation. She presented Melodifestivalen 2009 and was voted Sweden’s best female comedian the same year. In addition she has hosted the QX-gala and Guldbaggegalan and, of course, her own Petra Mede Show, on TV3.
Pedra stated to Eurovision.tv:
‘Imagine getting the chance to host Eurovision once again! It's such an incredible honor. After first hosting it alone and then together with the delightful Måns Zelmerlöw by my side, I am now really looking forward to working with Malin. We don't know each other from before, but we have met a couple of times now, and I'm already completely sold. It's going to be a joy to work with her!’
About Malin
Born in Stockholm and raised in Canada, Malin is recently living with her family in Los Angeles. She has appreared on several TV series such as The Comeback and Entourage and movies like The Heartbreak Kid and Watchmen and has acted alongside Tom Cruise, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock and The Rock.
On Swedish grounds she has appeared in the musical A Piece of My Heart and recently she appeared in the movie The Final Race.
Malin stated to Eurovision.tv:
‘I can’t really describe my feelings about this. I am very excited and a little nervous, but in a positive way. I have always liked Eurovision and to be a part of this fantastic show together with Petra is a dream come true. Additionally, Petra is one of the funniest women I’ve ever met.’
Eurovision 2024
Following Loreen's victorious participation with 'Tatoo' in Liverpool last year , the next contest will be taking place in Malmo. Sweden.Malmö will host the contest for the third time, having previously hosted in 1992 and 2013.
Eurovision 2024 is set to unfold on May 7, 9 with the two semifinals and on May 11 with the Grand final. A total of 37 countires will be participating in the 68th edition .
