Azerbaijan: JIVA presents her Eurovision 2026 entry 'Just Go'

• Azerbaijan's Eurovision 2026 hopeful, JIVA, has released the song 'Just Go' she will be delivering on stage in Vienna. 

  Azerbaijan's national broadcaster, Ictimai, this year opted for an internal selection to choose their Eurovision 2026 entrant. JIVA was selected to defend the nation's colors in Vienna singing the song 'Just Go'. 

  'Just Go' is an emotional ballad about love, heartbreak and inner strength, focusing on rediscovery after disappointment. The sond has been penned and composed by none  Fuad Javadov, an Azerbaijani -American. The official music video which was also published today has been directed by Farhad Ali.

   

  A few words for JIVA

  JIVA JIVA (real name Jamila Hashimova) is an Azerbaijani singer which was born in Moscow and later on she moved to Azerbaijan. 

  She started her music career in 2003, finishing second in the Baku Autumn music competition. Later she performed with the RAST ensemble, appeared at the Montreux Jazz Festival, and became the lead singer of Hazz Band, mixing jazz influences with modern pop music.

  A big breakthrough came in 2025, when she won the TV show The Voice of Azerbaijan, which made her one of the country’s most talked-about singers.

   

  Azerbaijan in Eurovision 

  The Land of fire debuted in the contest in 2008 and since then they have been present in every single edition of it, counting a total of 17 participations.  In 2011 The duo Eldar & Nikki gave the country its one and only victory with their entry Running scared, leading the Eurovision event next year in the capital city of Baku. 

  The country achieved five consecutive top-five results in the contest between 2009 and 2013, finishing third (2009) and fifth (2010) before its 2011 win and fourth (2012) and second (2013) following its win. Azerbaijan has failed to advance from the semi-finals on four occasions, in 2018 and since 2023.

  Last year Mamagama represented the country with the song 'Run to you' which didn't make it to the finals. This year JIVA will be competing in the first half of the second semi-final
