USA: Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg to host the first American Song Contest

Two internationally acclaimed super stars, Grammy-winning act Kelly Clarkson and multi times platinum certified Snoop Dogg will host the first edition of the American Song Contest.
The American Song Contest which is brought to the audience by Propagate in association with Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group is set to kick off on March 21, whilst the grand final will take place on May 9. All show will be aired live on NBC.
The organisers of the competitionconfirmed today that Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg will have the honor to guide the viewers throught the series of shows of the first ever American Song Contest.
About Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, author, and television personality. She rose to fame for winning the first season of American Idol in 2002, which earned her a record deal with RCA. Her debut single, "A Moment Like This", topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and became the country's best selling single of 2002. Clarkson's fourth and fifth studio albums, All I Ever Wanted (2009) and Stronger (2011), returned to a lighter tone and pop rock sound, with the former becoming her second US number-one album, and the latter making her the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album twice.
Clarkson has sold over 25 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide. She has 11 top-ten singles in the US, and nine top-ten singles in the UK, Canada, and Australia. Clarkson has served as a coach on The Voice since its fourteenth season, and since 2019, has hosted her own talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. In 2021 She went on to release her ninth studio album and second Christmas album, When Christmas Comes Around.
Clarkson says on her new assignment: ‘I have been a fan and love the concept of Eurovision and am thrilled to bring the musical phenomenon to America. I’m so excited to work with Snoop and can’t wait to see every state and territory represented by artists singing their own songs.’

Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. (born October 20, 1971), known professionally as Snoop Dogg, is an American rapper, songwriter, media personality, actor, and entrepreneur. His fame dates to 1992 when he featured on Dr. Dre's debut solo single, "Deep Cover", and then on Dre's debut solo album, The Chronic. Broadus has since sold over 23 million albums in the United States and 35 million albums worldwide. He has on his recored an impressive total of 19 studios albums, among which his second album, Tha Doggfather, , with "Snoop's Upside Ya Head" as the lead single with the album been certified double-platinum, while his latest, 19th album, released last month titled "BODR".

Eurovision crosses the Atlantic
The firsr edition of the American Song Contest willl unfold from March 21 to Mach 9 with the Grand final. With over three qualifying heats, semifinals and a Grand final show we will see competing acts competing and representing all 50 states, five U.S. territories and the nation’s capital Washington DC. Each representative can be either a solo artist, a duo, a DJ or a band will represent each competing terittory performing an original song, showcasing the different styles and genres of music across America.
Earlier back in May 2021, the producers of the American Song Contest launched the submission process on the contest's newly casting website outlining what they are looking for and under which terms.
The production team is made up by some of the most oustanding in experience producers of the Eurovision Song Contest itself and Propagate’s executive producers . Namely it's formed by:
