The Netherlands: Duncan Laurence releases new single ‘Heaven Is a Hand to Hold’

The Dutch Eurovision 2019 winner, Duncan Laurence, returns with his new single titled ‘Heaven Is a Hand to Hold’.
His might have been the Eurovision crowned winner for two years after last year's cancellation but his wave of success continues in the worlwide music scene.
Duncan returns with his new single ‘Heaven Is a Hand to Hold’ which has been given a spot on the soundtrack of the second season of 'Love, Victor'. This coming of age series, a comedy-drama that is ready for its second season that will start worldwide on June 18.
Duncan's song is the first track on the album. He co-wrote it with Peter Thomas, Jordan Garfield and producer and singer-songwriter Leland, who produced eight of the ten tracks on the album. ‘Heaven Is a Hand to Hold’ is an uplifting anthem which talks about the importance of using the lessons of the past in order to move forward.

Following his ESC victory back in Tel Aviv, the Dutch act has met worldwide success with his winning entry 'Arcade'making history as it marked the first Eurovision entry this centrury to enter the US Billboard Hot 100 peaking at No78. Last time this happened was back in back in 1996 the United Kingdom's entry, ‘Ooh Aah… Just a Little Bit‘ performed by Gina G, charted at No.12. In addition the song surpassed an impressive 400million streams on Spotify.

In 2019 Duncan Laurence was internally selected by the Dutch broadcaster, AVROTROS, to represent The Netherlands at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv,with the song ‘Arcade’. The Netherlands received a total of 498 points, with 261 points from the public and 237 points from the professional juries confirming the bookies that wanted Duncan winner from the day his song was released.
