  • ABBA, the Eurovision 1974 winners and one of the most successful groups globally,  are back with a new album and "revolutionary" live experience, 'ABBA: VOYAGE'. 

    ABBA are back and are inviting us to take us in a musical journey! Earlier this evening, the band announced ‘ABBA: Voyage’ – a full new album and their first new music in over 40 years which will be released on November 5 on Universal Music.

    But the package of news includes more as, ABBA – concisted of Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad – releaed the first two new songs bringing goosebumps to their fans! Namely the two song are titled : ‘I Still Have The Faith In You’ and ‘Don’t Shut Me Down’.

    In addition to all this exciting news, they shared details of a new concert experience that shares the same name as their upcoming ninth studio album – which will see a “digital” version of ABBA (not holograms) perform alongside a 10-piece live band at a  purpose-built 3,000-capacity ABBA Arena at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, at a run of shows from May 27, 2022.

    Until there new album is fully released and their concert time in London arrives lets enjoy their brand new songs that mark the comeback of the legendary group after 40 years:

    ABBA are a Swedish pop group formed in Stockholm in 1972 by Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. The group's name is an acronym of the first letters of their first names arranged in a chiastic pattern. Widely considered one of the greatest musical groups of all time,they became one of the most commercially successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide from 1974 to 1983. They have achieved 48 hit singles.

    In 1974, ABBA were Sweden's first winner of the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Waterloo", which in 2005 was chosen as the best song in the competition's history as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the contest. During the band's main active years, it consisted of two married couples: Fältskog and Ulvaeus, and Lyngstad and Andersson.

    "Waterloo" was ABBA's first major hit in numerous countries, becoming their first number-one single in nine western and northern European countries, including the big markets of the UK and West Germany, and in South Africa. It also made the top ten in several other countries, including rising to number three in Spain, number four in Australia and France, and number seven in Canada. In the United States, the song peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, paving the way for their first album and their first trip as a group. 

    Ten years after the group broke up and even though having many years out of the active discography scene, they remain more popular than ever. ABBA Gold, originally released in 1992, recently passed its 1000th week on the UK Album Chart, the first album in history to reach this milestone. 

    In 1999, ABBA's music was adapted into Mamma Mia!, a successful musical that toured worldwide. A film of the same name, released in 2008, became the highest-grossing film in the United Kingdom that year.
