A few words about Sergey 

Sergey Lazarev was born in 1983 and is a celebrated Russian singer, actor and TV presenter. He started getting involved with drama and singing before the age of 10 as a member of a kids’ choir. When he was 14 he receives his first award foe participating in a Musical. Several awards followed music festivals for underaged while in 1996 he wins the first prize in the competition Bravo Bravissimo in Italy.

For the years 1997 to 1999 he is a member of the group “Neposedi” alongsiide with Julia Volkova and Lena Katina, aka  t.A.T.u (Esc 2003 Russia) before making their own group.   At the age of  17, Sergey formed the group Smash!! with his friend Vlad Topalov.  The group had won in 2002 the first prize at the  New Wave Festival in Jūrmala  while in  2003 the released a  cover of George Michael’s super hit  “FaithHowever in 2004 Sergey decided to go solo !

His first solo album Don’t Be Fake became a bestseller. After his first album’s success he released his second album entitled “Tv Show“, which included the hit “Shattered Dreams” meeting great success in the U.K . In 2010 Sergey signed a record contract with Sony Music Entertainment. The same year he releases his 3rd album entitled “Electric Touch” . In 2013, 2017 and 2018 he went on with new albums that met wide success.

 In 2015 Sergey Lazarev won all possible Russian music awards, including the First Russian National Music Award as the Best Singer of the Year
 

Sergey in Eurovision 

Sergey Lazarev made his first attempt  to participate at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008  when he competed in the Russian national final with his entry Flyer, but camebehind Dima Bilan who went on to represent Russia in Belgrade and gave Russia its 1st Eurovision trophy.

In 2016 he was selected via an internal selection in order to fly the Russian flag at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm with the entry You’re the only one and despite topping the televoting scoreboard he finished in the overall results in third place.

 

Sergey made a comeback to Eurovision and got a chance to perform on the Eurovision stage in Tel Aviv at Eurovision 2019 . His entry 'Sream' achieved one more honorable result for the Russia as he finished 3rd in the final.
