  • The power of music to unite people and bring together acts and composers from different ends is undoubtful. And that exactly is the case for Georgios Kalapkidis, Vocolor,  and the ESC 2011 winner Eldar Gasimov, who have teamed up for their new song "Until The End".

     

     

     

     

     

     

     Eldar Gasimov,the Eurovision 2011 winner for Azerbaijan as part of the duo Ell & Nikki ( "Running Scared") is featuring the new song of Vocolor tilted "Until the end". The composition team of the song consists of Georgios Kalpakidis, who is behind  the lyrics and composition of the song along with Vocolor themselves. Vocolor is a Swedish-Greek project run by Sebastian Ekstrand and Nikos Sofis, with the first on contributing to music of the new song while the second to the lyrics. 

     

    Who are Vocolor 

    Vocolor is a EDM,Electronic, Pop project run by Sebastian Ekstrand, the vocalist of Metalcore band Escape the Day and Nikos Sofis, a Greek lyricistThe two of them first met and started working in early-2016, when the two got together to work on Ekstrand's solo single "Come To Me". Having collaborated well together, Sofis involved Ekstrand on the song "If I Could" for Moldovan artist Max Fall, a song that was submitted to represent Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. The same year, the two worked on Ekstrand's next solo single, "Hold On". During the same year, Ekstrand involved Sofis into the writing process of Escape the Day's comeback single "Breaking the Tide", released in early-2018.

    The two have also worked together on the song "Hypnotized", released in 2018 by popular Azerbaijani pop star Samra (Azerbaijan ESC 2016). In 2019, Ekstrand and Sofis collaborated once again and wrote the song "Stop Breathing" for Angelika Pushnova, who tried to represent her country, Belarus, in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

    Nikos Sofis has been behind the lyrics of ESC preselection entries in several occasions , either alone or other lyristis or along with Sebastian Ekstrand and the thrid partner of the composition team, Georgios Kalpakidis, marking together a long list of Eurovision national finals in which the have taken part as composers or lyrists.     A few words about Georgios Kalpakidis

    Georgios Kalpakidis (aka Gorgi or GK)  is a Greek songwriter,composer,  former journalist, Radio & TV host, best known for having composed the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest entry for Moldova, "Stay" by Anna Odobescu.

    But even before that Kalpakidis has a long Eurovision related history and is no stranger to the Eurovision world. Georgios has been covering the Eurovision Song Contest as a journalist for radio and TV stations, magazines and newspapers from 2000 until 2008. In addition, Gorgi counts several entries in national selections, all over Europe.     About Eldar Gasimov

    Eldar "Ell" Parviz oglu Gasimov s an Azerbaijani singer who successfully represented Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in the music duo Ell & Nikki with Nigar Jamal. He co-hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 held in Baku, Azerbaijan with Leyla Aliyeva and Nargiz Birk-Petersen.

    Eldar won with Nigar Jamar the Azeri national final, Milli Seçim Turu 2011 and went on representing Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest in  Düsseldorf, Germany in May 2011. They sang under the pseudonym Ell & Nikki the song "Running Scared" written by Stefan Örn and Sandra Bjurman from Sweden and Iain Farquharson from the UK, which won the competition with 221 points.
