Ireland: Listen to Ryan O’Shaughnessy's new single ‘Lucky One’

-
The Irish Eurovision 2018 representative, Ryan O’Shaughnessy is back with a brand new single titled 'Lucky One'.
Just two years ago we saw the talented Irish act, Ryan O’Shaughnessy, at the world’s greatest song contest, performing“Together". Now, Ryan has dropped his new single “Lucky One” after two years, coming home from a long trip in America, filled with amazing experiences.
The song was co-written by O’Shaughnessy himself and Hustle Standard, produced by Hustle Standard and recorded near the Los Angeles International Airport just before the California movement restrictions was implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The official music video released along with the new singleis comprised of footage from O’Shaughnessy’s recent trip to South America, showcasing his experience through photos and videos.
Ryan speaking about the meaning of his new track and its music video, in an interview to Celebmix said:
"Funnily enough, The Hustle Standard and I wrote the song two weeks before the lockdown was announced, so the world in my eyes was already a little disconnected. When co-writing, writers share their deepest thoughts and feelings, and during that session, I felt elated with gratitude for having the outlook on the world that I do. I wanted to get across the idea that there are so many questions and mysteries in this world and that’s the beauty of it all. We can’t be happy 100 per cent of the time but the journey back to happiness is where we show our strengths. With the video, I wanted to make a collage of moments from my journey through South America in 2019 which helped me to realise how lucky I really am to be able to see the world for the beautiful place it is."
Lyric of 'Lucky One'
It's like a shake me moment
How did it come to this
No physical connection
Is there something that we've missed
The mind is a mystery
And I'm no scientist
If monarch butterflies migrate
And water turns to mist
Maybe I'm the crazy one
For looking at the world the way I see it
Or maybe I'm the foolish one
Or maybe I'm just brave and didn't know it
Cos when I find it gets too tough
I find my way back up
Maybe I'm the lucky one
Maybe I'm the lucky one
Did you ever have a dream you're flying
Do dreams even have time
Or ever think that maybe we keep dreaming when we die
What if there's a simple reason for us to be alive
And Jimi came to show us all that we can kiss the sky
Maybe I'm the crazy one
For looking at the world the way I see it
Or maybe I'm a foolish one
Or maybe I'm just brave and didn't know it
Cos when I find it gets too tough
I find my way back up
Maybe I'm the lucky one
Maybe I'm the lucky one
I feel like this world keeps on changing
And we keep changing with it too
Nothings really black or white when you're looking from the outside
And we're just passing on through
Yeah, I'm the crazy one
For looking at the world the way I see it
Yeah, I'm the foolish
Yeah, I'm just brave and now know it
Cos when I find it gets too tough
I always find my way back up
Maybe I'm the lucky one
Guess that I'm the lucky one
Yeah, I'm the crazy one
For looking at the world the way I see it
Yeah, I'm the foolish
Yeah, I'm just brave and now know it
Cos when I find it gets too tough
I always find my way back up
Maybe I'm the lucky one
Guess that I'm the lucky oneAbout Ryan
