  • Anne Marie David, the twice Eurovision participant has recently released the French version of the Israeli hit "Pashut lihyot/Just be", under the title "Veux Tu".

The first lady of the Eurovision song contest is releasing a new song and takes us back to the jolly good 70's. Anne Marie David won the Eurovision song contest back in 1973 for Luxemburg with Tu Te Reconnaitras and came 3rd in 1979 for France with Je Suis L'enfant Soleil, two songs that are still loved all across Europe and especially in Israel, where she gained a super star status.

Thanks to the enormous love the people of Israel have for her for more than 45 years, Anne Marie David performs regularly in the holy land, and that's why she was asked to record "Veux Tu", a French version of a no.1 hit song from Israel, which was released in 2016.

With a full live orchestra, great catchy sing a long music and optimistic lyrics, Veux Tu can be heard now in French thanks to  Anna Marie's recently released version. The song was originally released in 2016  by the Israeli iconic star Hedva Amrani under the title  "Pashut lihyot/Just be"

The French version of "Veux Tu" is available on all digital platforms:

Before making it to the Eurovision stage in 1972 Anne Marie had submitted the song "Un peu romantique" to the French selection committee for the Eurovision Song Contest. It made the final shortlist of ten songs.

In 1973, she was selected to represent Luxembourg as the Grand Duchy sought to repeat its previous year's triumph on home soil in the Eurovision Song Contest. She thus joined the long list of non-native performers to have represented the country in the contest, which also includes France Gall (the 1965 winner) and Vicky Leandros (the 1972 winner). The 1973 contest crystallised into a three-way battle between songs that have since established themselves as Eurovision classics: David's "Tu te reconnaîtras", the Spanish entry "Eres tú", and the United Kingdom's "Power to All Our Friends", performed by Cliff Richard. Ultimately Anna Marie secured Luxembourg's second consecutive victorious participation in the contest.

She returned to Eurovision in the 1979 contest held in Jerusalem, this time representing her native France with the song "Je suis l'enfant soleil". Once again it was a tight three-way finish, with the Israeli entry "Hallelujah" edging to a home victory leaving David in third place.

Her bod however with the Istaeli fan community and the music scene has stayed vivid until present times, which explain her recently released French version of the Israeli song "Pashut lihyot/Just be"
