Netflix releases the “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga”  movie

  • The so awaited Netflix production of the movie “Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga” ,  hit our screens today as Netfilx released on its platform the movie.  

    Netflix’s Eurovision Song Contest  movie has finally arrived, showcasing the singing exploits of Lars and Sigrit, together known as Fire Saga, an Icelandic duo, two small-town singers chasing their pop star dreams through Eurovision. 

    Eurovision Song Contest: The Story Of Fire Saga is a film from Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin. In the film, Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams play the two members of Fire Saga, an Icelandic duo who hope to bring glory to their homeland at Eurovision. Pierce Brosnan plays Ferrell’s disapproving father. Dan Stevens plays a sexy Eurovision rival while the film will see Demi Lovato also in the cast along with UK commentator Graham Norton.

    Numerous Eurovision contestants  make cameo appearances in the movie. In what is described as a “pop medley” party scene, Eurovision winners Loreen, Alexander Rybak, Conchita Wurst and Netta, as well as 2019 Swedish Eurovision representative John Lundvik. In addition 2016 Eurovision winner Jamala as well as France’s 2010 and 2019 representatives Jessy Matador and Bilal Hassani respectively, Estonia’s 2018 star Elina Nechayeva and Moldova’s 2019 entrant Anna Odobescu complete the line up of Eurovision acts during the movie. 

    Apart from the ESC acts metioned, 2006 Swedish Junior Eurovision representative and many times Melodifestivalen finalist, Molly Sandén, will be the singing voice of Rachel McAdams’ character Sigrit Ericksdottir throughout the film

     

    The film's official soundtrack goes public

    Following Ferrell and McAdams’ music video for the soundtrack song Volcano Man  and ahead of the release of the film  the songs that are featured in the film went public. The soundtrack, of course, includes Volcano Man, which has been already covered by several Eurovision acts.
