  • Tamta the Cypriot Eurovision 2019 act, is coveying to the world of music some summer vibes through her new single "Yala" in which she has teamed up with worldwide acclaimed star Stephane Legar.

    Selecting carefully her collaborations Tamta has convinced us that she is into doing bigh things. The ESC 2019 contestant has released today her new song "Yala" joining forces with Stephane LegarStephane Gagba (born May 13, 1998), better known as Stephane Legar, is an Israeli singer, dancer, and model.He has put is mark in the international pop and R&B music scene. 

    Tamta's new song is a dynamic ethnic dance track with R&B elements. "Yala" is the forerunner track of Tamta's upcoming international EP entitled "Awake" which will be released on Friday, July 3 by Minos EMI, a Universal Music Company.

    The single has been released across Europe today and has already made it to the biggest European New Music Friday - and not only - lists on Spotify.At the same time, Tamta is on the cover of the New Music Friday playlist, where for the first time we meet a female artist from Greece.

    Tamta in Eurovision 

    In January 2007, Tamta participated in ERT's  national final to select the Greek representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. This was Tamta's first attempt to reach the Eurovision stage.  She placed third out of the three participants with the ballad song With love, while Sarbel went to the Contest.

    In 2019 Tamta was internally selected by the Cypriot broadcaster (CyBC) to represent Cyprus with her “Replay” behind of which was once again Alex Papaconstantinou while the whole creative team behind the Cypriot entry included some of the most successful names of the music industry, Teddy Sky, Viktor Svensson, Albin Nedler and Kristofer Fogelmark.

    Tamta competed in the first semi final in Tel Aviv and qualified to the Grand final where she eventually finished 13th with 109 points, marking the country’s second best result in the last decade, after Eleni Foureira’s 2nd place in 2018.
