Australia: Guy Sebastian drops brand new single 'Standing With You'

The act that delivered on the Eurovision 2015 stage Australia's first participating song in the contest, Guy Sebastian, has returned with a new emotional ballad titled "Standing with you" through which he passes some strong messages!
The talented Australian act released his new ballad "Standing with you" just some hours before and has already topped the itunes chart in down under. Guy's new song delivers a powerful message of strength and support as it has been influenced by the the current circumstances of isolation the globe has been facing due to the covid-19 pandemic.
A meanful emotional ballad
It’s the fourth single released from his upcoming album, which will be his ninth studio album. The song talks about people finding themselve in isolating conditions or other tough situations and how we should stretch out to them and stand by them in these fragile times.
Through a video message explaining that the lyrics of the song are very personal to him. He shared:
“A family member of mine was going through a very tough time, and he was brave enough to share his battle with his own mental health, and that inspired this song.”He goes on to explain that the song is relevant to the circumstances the world is facing in the current time:“So much of this year has been about standing up for what’s right, and also looking after each other. With the virus it’s all about protecting the vulnerable, and now with everything that’s happening with the protests - about changing things that have been in place for so long that need to change, and I feel like we’re all standing with each other”.

Guy was the first Aussie act to represent the country in its debut participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. He represented Australia performing his entry "Tonight Again" which finished in fifth place, Australia’s second best result so far.
Before Eurovision he was the winner of the first Australian Idol in 2003, and a judge on Australia's The X Factor in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016. Since the Contest he has been active on the Australian and International stage, releasing music, touring, songwriting, producing for other artists, being a regular coach on The Voice Australia, working with multiple charities, and actively campaigning for support for artists during the Covid-19 pandemic.
On the current season of The Voice he is coaching Johnny Manuel (a member of Equinox, who represented Bulgaria in the 2018 contest).
One of the most successful Australian acts
Sebastian has released nine top ten albums, including two number ones. The first seven all gained either platinum or multi-platinum certification. He has also achieved twenty two top twenty singles, with thirteen reaching the top ten, including six number ones. He is the only Australian male artist in Australian chart history to achieve six number one singles, and places third overall for all Australian acts.
Nine of his singles have been certified multi-platinum, including the 11× platinum "Battle Scars" while his debut single "Angels Brought Me Here" was the highest selling song in Australia in the decade 2000 to 2009. And of course the platinum and gold certifications follow after his new releases from 2009 and up to date with 65 platinum and five gold certifications and combined album and single sales of over 4.7 million in Australia, he has the highest certifications and sales of any Australian Idol contestant.
Sebastian has worked with a number of notable American musicians, including Brian McKnight, Robin Thicke, Steve Cropper, John Mayer, Jordin Sparks, Eve and Lupe Fiasco.
