Lithuania: EUROVIZIJA.LT 2025 national selection acts revealed

• LRT, the Lithuanian national broadcaster, has released the national final contestants of  EUROVIZIJA.LT 2025.

  Lithuania will be selecting their Eurovision 2025 hopeful through the EUROVIZIJA.LT 2025 national selection format that consists of five semifinals and a Gradn final show. Nine acts will compete in each semi-final heat with the two top acts from each round securing a spot in the Grand final show. The results will be determined by a combination of jury and public voting.

  The 10 finalists will compete in the final and go after the votes of the public and jury voting with the three top act advancing to a Superfinal round where the final winner will be selected entirely by the public vote. 

  The Lithuanian national selection is scheduled to unfold t the Zalgiris Arena in Kaunas. according to the following timeline: 

  • 11/01/2025 - Semi-final 1
  • 18/01/2025 - Semi-final 2
  • 25/01/2025 - Semi-final 3
  • 01/02/2025 - Semi-final 4
  • 08/02/2025 - Semi-final 5
  • 15/02/2025 - Grand Final

   

  Lithuania in Eurovision 

  Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest  24 times since its debut in 1994, when Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving zero points. Lithuania withdrew from the contest, without returning until 1999. LT United’s 6th place in 2006 with the song “We Are the Winners” is Lithuania’s best result in the contest. The country reached the top ten for a second time in 2016, when Donny Montell finished 9th with “I’ve Been Waiting for This Night”.

  In 2020 The Roop had won the national final with their song “On fire” but never made it to the Eurovision stage after the Eurovision 2020 cancellation due to the coronavirus outbreak. However, the band had the chance to complete their Eurovision journey in 2021, after winning the national selection Pabandom iš naujo 2021 with their song "Discoteque" and went on representing the Baltic nation in Rotterdam where they finished 8th. 

  In 2022 national final winner, Monika Liu, defended the Lithuanian colors with her song 'Sentimentai' which came 14th in the Grand final with an overall score of 128 points while in 2023 Monika Linkyte represented the Baltic nation in Liverpool with er song 'Stay' which came 11th in the Grand final.

  In 2024 Silvester Belt won the national final and flew the flag in Malmo singing 'Luktelk' which finished 14th in the Grand final!
