France 2: This is the French broadcaster's alternative Eurovision schedule for May

France 2, the French national broadcaster has unveiled its alternative Eurovision shcedule that will be replacing this year's cancelled Eurovision Song Contest.
France 2 will be keeping high the Eurovision spirit this month despite the this year's cancelletion and will bring to the French audience two shows for this May. Namely the two to shows that will be broadcast this May are:
- Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light ( 20:55 CET -France 2)
- La Grande Histoire d’Eurovision ( 23:05 CET -France 2)
The French broadcaster joins the 45 broadcasters that will be broadcasting the special show ‘Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light’ scheduled for May 16. The show is a co-production by the EBU and the three Dutch Eurovision 2020 host broadcasters (AVROTROS, NOS, NPO) and targets to honor the 41 ESC 2020 representatives that didn't have the chance to perform in Rotterdam due to the coronavirus outbreak. Already a number of past ESC winners have confirmed their appearance in the show among which , Katrina and the Waves (UK 1997) , Helena Paparizou (Greece 2005) and Marija Serifovic ( Serbia 2007) .
The show will be presented to us by Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit . Stephane Bern will be the French commentator of the show, while several former French Eurovision representatives and commentators will accompany his commentary.
La Grande Histoire d’Eurovision
The Eurovision song contest counts 65 years! A group of Eurovision related people will be diving in that history for the French broadcaster and presenting aspects of the contest that the wide audience hasn't heard of before!
Denise Fabre, Stéphane Bern, Dave, Cyril Féraud, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Patrice Laffont, Laurent Ruquier, Patrick Sabatier and Amir) will be making a TV journey back in the past Eurovison entries and will be commenting on the choreoghraphies, costumes, songs, performances, etc. Each of them will share with the viewers moments from their own Eurovision experience making a different approach to the contest and going backstage shedding light on trivial information of the past contests.
Tom Leeb was internally selected to represent the France in Rotterdam with his ballad Mon Alliée (The Best In Me)’. Unfortunately his Eurovision journey was never completed as this year's edtiion was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the French broadcaster still hasn’t revealed its plans regarding next year’s edition.
