Eurovision 2024 Rehearsals Day 1: First set of seven countries run their first rehearsals

Eurovision 2024 rehearsals kick off in Malmo Arena with the first set of seven countries taking the stage to run their first technical rehearsals.
Good morning Europe, this is Malmo calling! After months of national finals and preparations the final countdown for the 68th Eurovision Song Contest is underway as the first rehearsals begin in Malmo Arena.
Eurovision rehearsals are closed to all but a number of photographers and TikTokers with special access to both the arena and the Eurovision Reddit account.
Day 1 in Malmo Arena and the first set of seven countries are taking the stage to make their first rehearsal and impement their staging plans. Namely the first seven countries to rerhearse today are: Cyprus, Serbia, Lithuania, Ireland, Ukraine, Poland, Croatia.
Here is how the rehearsal program will unfold on Day 1 in Malmo Arena:

Cyprus - Silia Kaspis (Liar)

Cyprus' delegate, Silia Kapisis opens the rehearsal at Malmo Arena and takes the stage to deliver for the first time in Malmo her song 'Liar'.
Silia takes the stages accompanied by her four backing dancers, Theo B. Kofoed, Thomas Hegnet, Sebastian Laurentius Nielsen and Martin Daugaard. The Cypriot hopeful is wearing white trousers paired with a white cropped top while her dancers are in white t-shirts and black trousers.
From the poses of the first photos you can tell that this girl is telling off every 'Liar' in this world in full energy and determination.

A few words for Silia
Silia was internally selected to rerpesent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024 with the song 'Liar'. Silia will be delivering a song the behind the productiion of which is the well known to the Eurovision family composer, Dimitris Kontopoulos.
Silia is a 16-year-old act born on December 5, 2006, in Sydney, Australia, while he family background has roots both in Cyprus and Greece. Her father hails from Cyprus, while her mother comes from Thessaloniki, Greece. Silia has already made a name for herself in the entertainment industry, excelling as a singer, dancer, actress, and presenter. Her talents have graced television productions in Australia, including a short film titled ‘Pearly Gates’ and the TV series ‘Welcome to Our Lockdown.’ She has also served as a news presenter on Nickelodeon Australia.
Silia's debut single, “Who Am I?” was released in 2022, which she wrote and composed at the age of 12. Subsequently, she dropped singles “No Boys Allowed” and “Disco Dancer” in March and May 2023 repspectively.
Serbia - Teya Dora (Ramonda)

Second to rehearse is Teya Dora from Serbia who is bringing on Malmo Arena's stage her flower 'Ramonda'. Ramonda is a purple flower that is a symbol of Serbian resilience and rebirth.
Teya takes the stage wearing a light purple dress with black crystal sparkling long sleeves with an openi ending. The staging resembles that of the national final perfromance featuring a rocky scenery behind combined withg graphics of clouds and stars and lightning. The whole set up is filled with smoke that creates a totally atmospherical scenery.

A few words for Teya
Teodora Pavlovska, born May 1, 1992, known professionally as Teya Dora, is a Serbian singer and songwriter.She is best known for her single "Džanum", which has gained popularity on the social media platform TikTok and various musical platforms.
She launched her career on the Serbian music scene as a songwriter and composer. She wrote the title track for Nikolija 2019 album, Yin & Yang, and also worked with Teodora and Nataša Bekvalac, among others.
Teya Dora published her first song as an artist, "Da na meni je", in July 2019, and it became a hit. Between 2020 and 2023, she wrote several songs for the Serbian film series South Wind. In 2023, she released the song "Džanum", which became popular on social media platforms such as TikTok after the Belgrade school shooting.
In January 2023, the Serbian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 included a composition by Teya Dora, "Posle mene" performed by Filarri.
Lithuania - Silvester Belt (Luktelk)

Next up on stage for his first rehearsal is Lithuania's delegate Silvester Belt singing 'Luktelk'. Silvester appears on stage wearing a red leather suit and is accompanied by four backing dancers with masked faces.
The stage is dominated by black and red lighting and the set up is similar to that in the national final performance of EUROVIZIJA.LT.
The song talks about the the situation being in a position of not feeling alive confronting the diffculties that life brings along. However Silvester's performance is vivid and pleasantly delivering us the challenge to dance to his electro-pop song.

A few words for Silvester
Silvestras Beltė (born 26 November 1997), professionally known as Silvester Belt, is a Lithuanian singer and songwriter. Beltė was born in Kaunas, Lithuania. He graduated from the University of Westminster in London with a degree in Commercial Music Performance. After graduating, he returned to Lithuania to work on new electronic/pop materials.
In 2010, Beltė competed in Vaikų Eurovizijos nacionalinė atranka, the Lithuanian preselection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2010. He performed the song "Pi-pa-po" and qualified to the final, later placing 8th out of 12 finalists.
In 2017, Silvester competed and later won the Lithuanian reality competition television show Aš – superhitas (I Am a Superhit). Upon winning, he moved from his hometown to Vilnius, where he later released his debut single, "Noise".
Shortly after winning the show, he worked behind the scenes of the television show 2 Barai, the Lithuanian counterpart of the reality competition The Bar.The following year, he competed in the sixth season of X Faktorius, the Lithuanian version of The X Factor, where he was eliminated in the fourth week
Ireland - Bambie Thug (Doomsday Blue)

The lunch break is over and it's time to welcome on stage the Irish representative, Bambie Thug, singing 'Doomsday blue'.
Ireland this year brings a different genre of music discibed by Bambie Thug herself as describes their sound as ‘Ouija-pop’. The song which is a combination of metal sounds and melodic pop and talks about the reality of not been seen for what you 're worth.
Bambie Thug is dressed in a frilly tulle black skirt and the same dramatic white face makeup. She appears in a circle of candles and is backed by a bare-chested dancer interacting with him in a balletic motion choreography. The whole 'witchy' set up is theatrical fitting with Bambie Thug's musical style.

A few words for Bambie Thug
Bambie Ray Robinson (born 6 March 1993), known by their stage name Bambie Thug, is an Irish singer-songwriter. They are known to mix numerous genres in their music, coining their own term, "ouija-pop", out of disdain for being put into one genre. Robinson's music has been inspired by various subjects, including breakups, witchcraft, and drug addiction.
Robinson was first credited in music in 2020 as a featured artist on the Fike and Fabich song "Mean", which was released on 26 June 2020.Robinson released their debut single, "Birthday", on 5 March 2021.
Ukraine - alyona alyona & Jerry Heil (Terasa & Maria)

Time for the artistic duo from Ukraine, alyona alyona & Jerry Heil to showcase their talent and music proposal of 'Teresa & Maria'.
Jerry appears on stage wearing a golden colored etherial dress with a Roman style shoulder shieds while alyona alyona is wearing a same color kimono style coat . A rocky prop serves as a podium for the singers who deliver a song featuring a mixture of pop/rap and melodic music elements.

A few words for alyona alyone and Jerry Heil
Alyona Alyona, is a Ukrainian rapper and songwriter. She released her debut album, Pushka , in 2019, followed by an extended play the same year, V khati MA (В хаті МА).
Alyona has been dubbed "the new rap star of Ukraine" and "the sensation of Ukrainian rap" by Ukrainian media.In an article titled "15 European Pop Acts Who Matter Right Now", The New York Times likened her to Azealia Banks
Jerry Heil is a 29 year old Ukrainian singer, songwriter and YouTuber. She began her career after launching her YouTube channel in 2012, publishing vlogs and musical covers.
Heil began her professional music career in 2017, releasing her debut extended play De miy dim with Vidlik Records. She later released the single "Okhrana otmjena" in 2019, which became a top five hit in Ukraine. Her debut studio album Ya yana was later released in October 2019. Since starting her YouTube channel, Heil has accumulated more than 34.9 million views and 395 thousand subscribers.
Poland - Luna (The Tower)

Second last rehearsal before Day 1 concludes is the Polish delegate, Luna, bringing muscially and literally 'The Tower'.
Following the rocky setting of Serbia's and Ukraine's staging Luna's staging features a black and one white neon lighted chess tower. The Polish hopeful appears wearing initially a red shiny 'plastic' style cape which as the songs progressess is removed to unveil a long white dress with red horns on her shoulders.
Luna has alongside three faceless backing dancers a black, a white and a red one. The song unfolds in front of a moonlit backdrop, goes on with Luna on one thewhite neon lighted chess tower. An uptempo pop song that culminates in a catchy rythm during the chorus which in it's final part couldn't miss out some fireworks.

A few words for Luna
Aleksandra Katarzyna "Ola" Wielgomas (born 28 August 1999), known professionally as Luna, is a Polish singer and songwriter.
Wielgomas was born on 28 August 1999 in Warsaw. She studied at the "Tadeusz Baird" National Music School in Grodzisk Mazowiecki, taking violin classes. From 2015 to 2018, she attended course in legal and political sciences.In 2018, she began studying at the University of Warsaw.
In 2018, Wielgomas established cooperation with the Kayax label as part of the "My Name Is New" project. It was then that she recorded her debut song titled "Na wzgórzach niepokoju".
In 2020, Wielgomas began her cooperation with composer Michał "Fox" Król, resulting in the single "Luna", which announced the singer's new artistic path.On 2 February 2021, Luna released the single "Mniej".
On 21 April 2023, Luna released the single "Nie Please o More", which she recorded in a duet with Marcin Maciejczak. On 20 May, she released the single "Wirtualne Przedmieście",which talks about being on the border of the virtual and real world.
Croatia - Baby Lasagna (Rim Tim Tagi Dim)

Last but not least for today's first rehearsals is Baby Lasagna from Croatia with his 'Rim Tim Tagi Dim' song.
Where to start from this yea'rs Croatia's song which here to serve all kind of tastes of music bringing rock, folk, techno sounds and a dominating violin feature on Malmo Arena stage. The Croatian delegate wears white pans with a white shirt with frilly sleeves paired with a boedeaux vest on top.
Moves inspired by tradional dances combined with smoke and fireworks create an explosive staging which we are certain that won't leave anyone sitting by the end of the song.

A few words for Baby Lasagna
Marko Purišić (born 5 July 1995), known professionally as Baby Lasagna, is a Croatian singer, songwriter and music producer.
From 2011 to 2016 and from 2018 to 2022, Purišić served as the guitarist for Manntra, a Croatian rock band.While still a member of the band, they participated in Dora 2019, securing the fourth position with the song "In the Shadows" with a total of 12 points. Following his tenure with the group, he transitioned to pursue a solo career in 2023. On 21 October 2023, Purišić released his debut single "IG Boi" under the pseudonym Baby Lasagna through Molly Studios. Two months later, in December 2023, his second single "Don't Hate Yourself, But Don't Love Yourself too Much" was released.
