Albania: Ronela's 1st rehearsal photos taken down as provocative content

  • An issue with Ronela Hajati's first rehearsal photos seems to have turned into the talk of the day with members of the Albanian team and fans talking about an act of censorship.

    The Albanian Eurovision 2022 hopeful, opened the first day's rehearsal taking the stage to make her technical rehearsal of 'Sekret'. Like for all countries that followed photo material from the rehearsal are uploaded on Eurovision Social media showcasing each delegate. 

    While Ronela's photo were the first ones to go public and attract the fans' attention and comment on Twitter and Instagram, by Sunday afternoon the photo gallery was taken down wothout any explanation and re-uploaded but with the photo featuring the specific post been cut out. In addition, Ronela's female dancer is no photos of the ones uploaded despite being one of the significant featured of her story on stage. 

    The reactions from the Albanian side and other esc media did not take long to come. Ronela herself expressed via Twitter her feelings:

    One of the members of the Albanian team Erdi Tejeci uploaded the following post prostesting on EBU's decision to cut out Ronela's photos:

     In addition one more photo excluded from Ronela's gallery has drawn attention and caught in the middle of comments:

    The whole issue that has come up has caused even more reactions among the fans of the contest while rumors on the social media platforms are talking about an EBU request for a change of Ronela's choreochraphy. 

     

    Ronela is representing Albania with her song 'Sekret' and will be opening the first semi-final live show on May 10, 2022 in Pala Olimpico, Turin. Her first rehearsal received the most positive comments declaring her as the best rehearsal of the first day.
