Ukraine: UA:PBC confirms participation in Junior Eurovision 2022

The Ukrainian national broadcaster, UA:PBC, has confirmed that they will be participating in this year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, Armenia.
UA:PBC has confirmed through its social media accounts that they will be taking part in the 20th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest that is set to take place on December 11, 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia.
The broadcaster is expected to release the rules and regulations of the selection in due course and open the repsecitve submission window soon.
Ukraine in Junior Eurovision
Ukraine took part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2006. Their best result came in Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012 when Anastasiya Petryk won for Ukraine with "Nebo". Her sister Viktoria Petryk previously came 2nd at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with "Matrosy".
Ukraine has hosted the competition in 2099 and 2013, with Kiev being the first city to host the contest twice, while Ukraine was then the second country after the Netherlands to host the competition twice. In 2019 Sophia Ivanko represented the country with “The Spirit of Music”, which finished 15th with 59 points. In 2020 Oleksandr Balabanov represented the nation in Warsaw with "Vidkryvai (Open Up)" which finished 7th with a total of 106 points in the overall score (7th in the jury voting & 6th in the online voting).
Last year national final winner, Olena Usenko, defended the Ukrainian colors in Paris singing 'Vazhil' which finished in 6th place receiving a total of 126 points.
