The Netherlands: AVROTROS releases the Junior Songfestival 2022 entry titles

  • The Dutch broadcaster, ACROTROS, has released the titled of the songs that will be competing in the upcoming Junior Songfestival 2022, the show that will be select the country's Junior Eurovision '22 entry. 

    Through a special video presenting the competing acts' behind the scenes postcard recordogs ad photo shootings, during which the artists revealed their song titles and showcases a snippet of their entry. 

    Meanwhile the names of the four competing acts were selected via the Junior Songfestival social media followers, coming down to the following names: 

    • High5 (Danny, Kaey, Luuk, Thijs and Thomas) – “Because I Know”
    • MixedUp (Joep, Lois, Noor and Sam) – “It Doesn’t Matter”
    • Infinity (Eva, Kayleigh, Larissa and Lemay) – “Never Ever”
    • Luna“La festa” (The party)

    Additionally, the competing acts recorded the music video for the Junior Songfestival 2022 theme song titled “Living In the Moment”.

     

    The Dutch national selection for Junior Eurovision 2022 is set to take place on September 24, 2022 at the RTM stage in Rotterdam. The final winner of the show will fly the flag in Yerevan, Armenia on December 11, 2022. 

     

    The Netherlands in Junior Eurovision

    The Netherlands has been participating in the contest since day 1 in 2003 and haven’t missed a year. In 2009 they won the competition and have achieved nine times to finish in the top 10 places. The country’s worst place came in 2015 when it finished 15th. In 2018 the country was represented by the duo Max & Anne and their entry Samen, which finished in 13th place with 91 points.

    In 2019, Matheu represented the nation in Gliwice with his song "Dans met jou" which finished in the 4th place with 186 points. In 2020 the girl group UNITY won the national final and represented the nation in Warsaw, Poland with their song 'Best Friends'  which finished 4th, the second fourth placing for the county in a row.

    Last year in Paris, Ayana, represented the nation with the song “Mata Sugu Aō Ne” who finished scoring a total of 43 points.
