Serbia: Jovana and Dunja's  Junior Eurovision Song “Children’s Eyes” released

  • The song that the Serbian Junior Eurovision 2021 hopefuls, Jovana and Dunja, will be performing in Paris, titled “Oči deteta” (Eyes of a Child), has been revealed. 

    Jovana Radonić and Dunja Živković will be defending the Serbian colors in the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Paris on December 19, 2021 singing the song “Oči deteta” (Eyes of a Child).

    'Eyes of a child' has been composed by Ana Frlin, and has been arranged by Ognjen Cvekić. The music video for the song has been shooted over the last couple of weeks.

     

    The selection process

    The election process had three stages. The first was the selection, in which demo recordings of the received applications were listened to, then four compositions and performers were selected who were invited to sing their song "live" with the matrix, in Studio 6 of Radio Belgrade.

    Each performance was audio recorded so that in the third phase of the selection, for which three compositions were selected, RTS music editors re-listened to all performances recorded in Studio 6 and gave their ratings - 3 points to the first place, 2 points to the second place and 1 point to the third place song. 

     

    A few words for Jovana Radonić and Dunja Živković

    Jovana Radonić  was born on January 19, 2011. years in Novi Sad. Even as a very young child, she showed an affinity and talent for music and movement. She had her first public appearance at the age of four, and the following year she participated in a television music competition in which she won second place.

    Since then, she has been collaborating with piano and singing teacher Ana Frlin, who continues to lead Jovana through elementary music school, where she is currently a third-grade piano student, and as a music school student she won a special award at the Isidor Bajić festival in solfeggio. Since 2020, he has been studying singing with Professor Petra Leona Matiša as part of "La La Studio".

    Dunja Zivkovic was born on July 22, 2010. years in Novi Sad. From an early age, she showed interest and love for music, so from the age of three she attended the music workshop "Do Re Mi" in Novi Sad, where she was immediately noticed, performing as a soloist, but also with the band of the same name.

    In April 2019, at the competition of schools in the region, Dunja won the first place in her category. She is a third grade student at the elementary music school "Isidor Bajić", piano department, in the class of prof. Dunja Crnjanski and the fifth grade of the elementary school "First Vojvodina Brigade" in Novi Sad, and also attends the singing school "La La Studio" in Novi Sad in the class of professor Petra Leona Matisa.

    The Serbian JESC 2021 entry is receiving its last touches with work underway on the final version of the song, which will be officially released by the end of October.

     

    Serbia in Junior Eurovision 

    Serbia debuted as an independent country in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in the 2006 edition, previously in the 2005 edition participated under the name "Serbia and Montenegro" when both countries were one.

    The country has participated since 2006 in all editions with the exception of the three-year parenthesis (2011 - 2013), still Serbia's best position in third place came in the 2007 and 2010 editions, while worst result was in the 2016 edition ranking last.

    In 2019 the Balkan country was represented by Darija Vračević  performed "Podigni glas" achieve a top 10 placing as she finished 10th with 109 points. Last year in Warsaw Petar Aničić represented the nation with his song “Heartbeat” finishing 11th with a total of 85 points.
