Poland: Szansa na Sukces themes unveiled; Eurowizja junior 2020 National selection rounds revealed

  • The themes of the songs that the contestants will perform in Szansa na Sukces-Eurowizja junior 2020 national selection have been unveiled along with how the national selection will unfold on screen. 

    The Polish broadcaster and host of this year's JESC, TVP, has revealed the song themes of the three shows in which the contestants will be performing on stage. Specifically, the three rounds will feature the following themes: 

    • In the first episode (September 6) we will hear "Intergenerational hits" , and the jurors will be Viki GaborPiotr Rubik and Edyta Górniak.
    • In the second episode (September 13), the topic will be "World hits we listen to" , and the candidates will be judged by Cleo , Gromee and Michał Wiśniewski 
    • The third episode (September 20) is "Songs from fairy tales" , during which the jurors will be Dawid Kwiatkowski , Marina and Kasia Łaska.

    The program will be conducted by Artur Orzech and in case of a Junior Eurovision cancellation, the winner will be given the right to compete in Opole 2021. 

    The Format

    The Eurowizja junior 2020 national selection will unwind over four weeks and see a total of 21 act take the stage. The selection will consist of three semi final rounds, seven acts in each semi final heat. During the semi finals the contestants will perform covers selected by the production. A  three member jury, different in each semi final , will assess the acts and determine one qualifier from each round. 

    The three qualifiers will perfrom two songs in the final show, set for September 27. One song will be chosen by the production while the second one will be the entry that the contestant wishes to represent Poland with on home soil. A combination of jury and public voting (50% each) will determine the final winner. In case of a tie the act wion the jury voting will earn the right to represent Poland in JESC 2020. 

    Last year the competition was host in Gliwice-Silesia with 19 nations taking part. Poland won the contest for a second year in a row with Viki Gabor’s entry “Superhero”.
