Poland: Marysia Stachera wins the first semi final show of Szansa na Sukces – Eurowizja Junior 2021

Marysia Stachera is the first finalist of the Polish Junior Eurovision 2021 selection 'Szansa na Sukces – Eurowizja Junior 2021'.
The show 'Szansa na Sukces' ( Chance for Success) is serving for the thrid time as the selection format for the Polish representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. As in previous years, this year's format will consist of four rounds. The first three will be the qualifying themed heats through which will be selected the participants of the final show, which will take place on September 26
This afternoon the first semi final took place with a total of seven acts competing for one spot in the final. The contestants in this round performed covers of Eurovision songs. The 7 contestants were:
- Zuzanna Gajor
- Gabriela Frątczak
- Marysia Stachera
- Idalia Orman-Borucka
- Paulina Ładosz
- Emilia Zuzanna Głodek
- Krystian Gizicki
The winner that filled in the first spot in the final show is Marysia Stachera who sang a cover of Duncan Laurence's Eurovision 2019 winning song “Arcade”.
The winner was determined by a three membered jury panel made up by the following:
- Cleo
- Misha Kostrzewski
- Mariana Józefina Piątkowska
The second semi final show is scheduled for next week which will see one more set of seven contestants take the stage and aim to fill in one more spot in the final show.
A few words for Marysia Stachera
Marysia Stachera's live is already full of music. The teenager besides singing beautifully, can also play the cello. She has, among others, several achievements at the provincial and national level, as well as second place at the International Cello Competition in Prague. Marysia lives in Domaszowice near Kielce. In addition to the cello, she also plays the piano and is interested in creating her own music.
However, this is not the only passion of the first finalist of 'Szansa na Sukces . She likes to play sports, especially sailing. Marysia Stachera specializes in the Optimist B class, already winning top positions in provincial competitions. In her free time, she photographs together with her brother Grześ, who will also appear in Szansa na Sukces in just a week. Her biggest inspiration when it comes to taking pictures are birds.
Poland in Junior Eurovision
Poland’s first participation at the competition was in 2003, while she was absent the years 2005 – 2015. The country’s worst result came in 2004 when it finished 17th . In 2018 with Roksana Węgiel the country scored its first victory in Minsk, Belarus with her entry Anyone I Want To Be , which was followed by a second in a row win with Viki Gabor and her song "Superhero" in Gliwice- Silesia.
Last year, Ala Tracz represented the nationl with the song “I’ll Be Standing” and came 9th with 90 points.
