North Macedonia: Lara feat. Irina & Jovan release their Junior Eurovision 2022 entry “Životot E Pred Mene”

  • The North Macedonian Junior Eurovision 2022 hopefuls, Lara feat. Irina & Jovan have released their entry “Životot E Pred Mene” (Life is ahead of me).

    “Životot E Pred Mene” the song that Lara along with Irina and Jovan will be singing in Yerevan rerpesenting North Macedonia at Junior Eurovision 2022 was presented this evening during  Dnevnik 2 on MRT 2.

    Tne North Macedonian national broadcaster, MRT, came down to Lara Trpčeska and Irina Davidovska to fly the flag in Yereven, Areenia, after holding special auditions for this purpose. 

    The auditions took place at the MRT studios in Skopje, in which young singers ages 9 to 14 were eligible to give a shot at representing the country in Yerevan the coming December. Each candidate had to perform two songs of their own choice.

    Following their selection Jovan was added in the team and will be flying together with Lara and Irina to Yerevan. Check out below the official music video of the North Macedonian entry: 

     

     

    North Macedonia in Junior Eurovision

    North Macedonia, previously presented in the contest as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (F.Y.R. Macedonia), has participated in the competition 15 times since their debut in the inaugural 2003 contest missing out only the editions of 2012, 2014 and 2020. 

    In the first edition of the contest back inl 2003 in Copenhagen, Denmark, represented by the song "Ti ne me poznavaš" performed by Marija and Viktorija. The song placed 12th in a field of 16 countries.

    The country's best performance at the contest has been 5th place, achieved twice to date – in 2007 when North Macedonia was represented by the song "Ding Ding Dong" performed by Rosica Kulakova and Dimitar Stojmenovski, and in 2008 with "Prati mi SMS" performed by Bobi Andonov.

    In 2019 in Gliwice-Silesia the nation was represented by Mila Moskov with her song "Fire" which finished 6th, marking the country's best result since 2008 when they finished 5th. 

    While in 2020 the country withdrew from the competition due to the covid-19 pandemic restrictions, in 2021 make its comeback in Paris with Dajte Muzika singing 'Green forces' who score a top 10 placing for the landlocked country finishing 9th with a total of 114 points.
