Kazakhstan: Khabar unveils the 12 JESC 2020 national finalists

The twelve acts which will battle for the right to represent Kazakhstan at 2020 Junior Eurovision, have gone public by the Kazakh broadcaster, Khabar TV.
12 finalists of the national selection for 2020 Junior Eurovision have been selected through online voting Khabar TV channel conduced on its website. The acts that were selected for the national final are:- 11-year-old Islam Saipolda
- 12-year-old Burkhanova Adiya
- 14-year-old Aidana Zhumazhan
- 14-year-old Akzhibek Manarbekkyzy
- 11-year-old Zhan Maxim
- 13-year-old Aiym Mukitanova
- 13-year-old Kamila Gazizkyzy
- 13-year-old Saniya Altynbekkyzy
- 14-year-old Makhinur Tursunova
- 10-year-old Nurshat Kusanova
- 13-year-old Aikerim Tileubek
- 12-year-old Karakat Bashanova
The online voting that determined the 12 finalists took place from August 26 to August 31 and saw more than 650.000 votes coming in. In the first place came Islam Saipolda (34.543 votes) followed by Burkhanova Adiya (34.105).The national final is set for September 26 and will be adjusted to the current Covid-19 circumstances. The winner of the national selection is to be selected exclusively by public voting through calling or SMS. In case of a tie the jury will select the final winner and next representative of Kazakhstan at Junior Eurovision 2020.
Kazakhstan in Junior Eurovision
Kazakhstan debuted at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 after EBU’s invitation to broadcaster, Khabar Agency, to join the contest. The country was represented by the national final winner, Daneliya Tuleshova and her entry “Ózińe sen” which finished in 5th place at the competition held in Minsk, Belarus.
Last year 12-year-old Yerzhan Maksim defended the Kazakh colors in Gliwice- Silesia in Poland and after delivering a stunning vocally performance of his entry, Armanyńnan Qalma achieved to top the jury voting and finish 2nd ion the overall scoreboard.
