Kazakhstan: Karakat Bashanova releases official music video of 'Forever'

  • Kazakhstan's Junior Eurovision 2020 hopeful Karakat Bashanova has released the music video of her JESC entry "Forever".

    Following her national selection victory Karakat went on filming the official music video of her entry 'Forever'. The shootings took place at th country's biggest city, Almaty, and were directed by Malik Zenger who is nationally popular amont the artists and has graduated from New York Film Academy.

     

    The 12-year-old performer has dedicated her song Forever to her father. The song was written by Khamit Shangaliyev, the same composer who wrote Yerzhan Maxim’s song for Junior Eurovision Song Contest last year. The music video features the young act in three different roles but which all have a father doing a dangerous job. 

     

     A few words about Karakat

    Karakat started singing at 5 years old and started having vocal lessons at the age of 9. Not long after, she began to practice vocals from singers on YouTube. She is now enrolled at a music boarding school named after famous Kazakh opera singer Kulyash Baisetova, where she plays the piano and violin.

    Karakat has participated in several singing contests in the region, as she was a finalist in 'The Voice of Children 2018' and also took 3rd place at the II open children's vocal festival 'Happy Child 2019'.

     

    Kazakhstan in Junior Eurovision 

    Kazakhstan debuted at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 after EBU’s invitation to broadcaster, Khabar Agency, to join the contest. The country was represented by the national final winner,  Daneliya Tuleshova and her entry “Ózińe sen” which finished in 5th place at the competition held in Minsk, Belarus. 

    Last year 12-year-old Yerzhan Maksim defended the Kazakh colors in Gliwice- Silesia in Poland and after delivering a stunning vocally performance of his entry, Armanyńnan Qalma achieved to top the jury voting and finish 2nd ion the overall scoreboard.
