Russia: JESC 2020 national finalists unveiled

  • The acts that will compete in the Russian national final for the right to represent the country at the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw have been revealed. 

    During the last weekend auditions took place at the Igor Krutoy Academy in Moscow, from which the acts to compete in the national final were seleted. A total of 11 artists were chosen to give the battle for the ticket to Poland on November 29, 2020.

     

     

     

     

    These are : 

    1. Sofia Fesova from St. Petersburg 
    2. Arseny Slesarev from Moscow
    3. Artem Fokin from Sevastopol 
    4. Sofia Shkepu from Yaroslav 
    5. Artem Morozov from Moscow
    6. Rutger Garecht from Orenburg 
    7. "Little Z" ( Mikhail Koval & Polina Koroleva) from Novosibirsk
    8. Sergey Filin & Veronica Litovchenko from  Moscow 
    9. Sophia Tumanova from Novosibirsk
    10. Genych (Gennady Pereverdiev) from Moscow 
    11. Sofia Kirsenko from Simferopol

     

    The entry that will defend the Russian colors in the upcoming Junior Eurovision in Warsaw, will be determined on September 25. The Russian hopeful will be decided via jury (50%) and public voting (50%). The online public voting will kick off as soon as the finalists are revealed and will durate throughout the show until the window closes. 

     

     Russia in Junior Eurovision 

    Russia debuted at the competition in 2005 and has all years achieved to finish in the top 10 places.  The country has won twice the contest , in 2006 and 2019. Last year the country was represented in Gliwice by Tatyana Mezhentseva and Denberel Oorzhak with the song “A Time For Us”  which ended at 13th place with 72 points.
