Spain: Levi Díaz will sing “Reír” at Junior Eurovision 2021

  • The Spanish Junior Eurovision 2021 hopeful, Levi Díaz will be performing the song “Reír” in Paris on December 19, 2021.

    “Reír” (Laugh)  is the song with which  Levi Díaz will  represent Spain at the  Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2021 ,  to be held on December 19  A pop song with a  message of hope and full of energy  that will invite the children of Europe to come together and imagine a new world through  love, dreams and friendship. 

    During the show ‘Mejor Contigo’ on La 1 in which the song was presented the 13 year old talented act stated: 

    "Laughing is very important. They call me the child with the eternal smile and we want to send a message of joy"

     

    In addition the author of the song, David Roma says about it: 

    "It is said that children are the hope of a new world, of a better world. All children must laugh, dance, dream and, no one better than them to begin today to forge that future full of colors, bright and luminous, that house your dreams come true "

    And goes on saying: 

    "'Laugh' is an ode to hope. His verses unite the voices of a generation that has come to change things. That believes in love, humanity and their dreams."

    David Roma has collaborated in the past with internationally acclaimed stars such as David Bisbal, Luis Fonsi or India Martínez.

    A few words for Levi 

    Levi Díaz is 13 years old and is the current winner of the sixth edition of 'La Voz Kids' in Spain. Although he started in music a little over a year ago, he has had enough time to decide which style he likes the most, pop, because it is the one that allows him the most interpretation. Frank Sinatra is his idol. His voice, his tone, the rhythm of his songs captivated him.

    In 'La Voz Kids' he won after performing songs like' Mama No 'with Pablo López,' Diamonds', 'Warrior', 'Alive' by Sia, or the very demanding song 'Never enough' from the OST of 'The greatest showman '.

    Levi Díaz, born in Cornellà de Llobregat, transmits with just a glance, but his velvety and emotional voice captured the attention of the entire public, thus crowning himself, with much competition, the winner of the contest.

    Levi Díaz is currently preparing to improve his vocal technique, in addition to continuing his studies. He has become a clear example for other young people who, like him, want to make a place for themselves in the world of music. In 2019, he participated in the first edition of 'La Voz de Cornellà' and won the first prize in the youth category, in addition to receiving public recognition with the award for the most charismatic contestant.

     

    Spain in Junior Eurovision

    Spain has a total of five participations in the youth competition and has achieved remarkable results in its short history. The country counts a victory thanks to  "Antes muerta que sencilla" (Before dead than simple) by María Isabel (2004) , two second places ( Sergio, in 2003  and  Antonio José, in 2005 ) and a fourth position ( Dani Fernández, in 2006 ).

    Spain returned to the competition in the 2019 edition after 13 years of absence  and did it with an impressive. The young talented act starred in a memorable performance with "Marte" (Mars)  on the  stage of Gliwice-Silesia and achieved to finish in 3rd place. 

    Last year the nation was represented by Soleá who performed the song 'Palante' which finished thrid on the overall scoreboard with 133 points.
