-
The Slovenian broadcaster, RTVSLO, has confirmed that it will not be returning to Junior Eurovision in the 19th edition next December in Paris, France.
RTVSLO has confirmed to Eurofestivales that Slovenia will not come back to Junior Eurovision in this year's contest marking it's sixth successive year away from the competition.
In 2016 the broadcaster explained that the decision was made based on changes to the contest rules by the EBU, although not specifying which rule changes influenced their decision to withdraw from the competition. Back in 2019, the head of entertainment of the Slovenian radio and television, Vanja Vardjan, told this medium that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest is a contest "too expensive for the afternoon schedule" for RTVSLO.
This year Junior Eurovision 2021 is set to take place in Paris, France on December 19,2021 at the La Seine Musicale. So far 10 countries have confirmed their participation.
