Junior Eurovision 2023: Rehearsals Day Two in Nice

Junior Eurovision 2023 rehearsals continue today in Nice, France at at Nikaia Palais with the rest six countries taking the stage for their first rehearsal.
Time to rehearse for the 16 delegates of this year's contest, with the rehearsals going on with the rest six contestants. First rehearsals are not be open to the press and material for the rehearsing countries are shared throughout the day on the official Junior Eurovision website.
Here are how the rehearsals unfold in Nice today:
Albania: Viola Gjyzeli – “Bota ime“
Albania's Viola opens the reharsal today in Nikaia Palais with her song 'Bota ime'. The Albanian delgate appers alone on stage wearing a white outfit which has attached a cape that forms a shape of butterfly wings.
Blue is is the color tha prevails througout the performance which remains simple until the end.
Ireland: Jessica McKean – “Aisling”
It;s for the Irish delegate Jessica McKean to run her first rehearsal of 'Aisiling' (Dream). Jessica apprean on stage wearing an impressive red frock trasferring us to the world of fairies.
The Irish hopeful is joint on stage by last year's representatve Sophie Lennon wearing a white dress and along with the dark forest on the backdrop that switches to a floral surrounding, reinforce that fairy feeling we have watching the perforrmance.
Poland: Maja Krzyżewska – “I Just Need a Friend”
Up next is Maja Krzyżewska from Poland for the first rehearsal of 'I just need a friend'. Maja wears a a knee length pink dress combined with a cape , She is joined on stage by four backing dancers who all wear macthed long pink dresses.
The backdrops features pictures from videos of Maja's childhood years. As the Polish act sings her entry the lyrics of her song are diplayed behind.
France: Zoé Clauzure – “Coeur”
Zoé Clauzure the host nation's hopeful takes the stage for her own first reeharsal of 'Coeur' (Heart) on home soil. The French delegate begins her performance sitting on a pink piano wearing a disco ball style sparkling purple dress. As the song progresses she sings standing on the piano.
She is accompanied by four backing dancers that move beneath her next to the piano while on the LED screen multiplied image of children in white dancing make the whole scenery really impressive.
Spain: Sandra Valero – “Loviu”
It's Spain's Sandra Valero's turn to make her first rehearsal of 'Loviu' . The Spanish hopeful wear beige trouses combine on top with a woolen brown vest without sleeves. Her four backing dancers are all dressed the same way with their vests only in a more darken brown color.
The act from Valecia poerforms on a pontium that look like a big suitcase and along with the landmarks on the back drops indicates a world tour. All whole travel tour vibes from the set up match th the chorus 'Loviu' that is sang in other languages too. An impressive staging closing with fireworks on the backdrop!
Italy: Melissa and Ranya – “Un mondo giusto”
Last but not least the Italian delegates, Melissa and Ranya close today's rehearsal as they deliver their song 'Un Mondo Giusto'. The two of them are dressed in diffrent style, Melissa is wearing a jean blue vest paired with short jean trousers, while Ranya wears a Skottish style skirt paired with a white shirton top.
A piano for two and a bed for Ranya is how the performance unfolds on stage while the projections on the LED screen behind makes the whole area look like part of a doll house.
The rehearsals continue tomorrow in Nikaia Palais with the second rehearsals for the first set of 10 countries. The 21st Junior Eurovision live show is set to hit the screen on Sunday, November 26 at 16:00 CET.
