The Netherlands: The second and third episode of the Junior Songfestival 2022 auditions

The Netherlands' quest for the next Junior Eurovision hopeful is underway with the second and third rounds of Junior Songfestival 2022 audition taking place.
The Netherlands are using the Junior Songfestival format to select their Junior Eurovision representative for Yerevan. The selection is progressing at the moment to the second and third rounds of first auditions which will determined which little stars will have the chance to shine in the national selection.
Zapp has released the two latest episodes of the auditions with the young talented acts giving their shot for the dream to represent the country in Armenia next December.
Second Episode
During the second round of auditions the acts that took the stage to perform were: Zaki & Zinedine, Luna, Lynn, Sam, Lemuël, Milika, Miles, Yfke, Luuk, Quincy, Caitlynn, Thirza, Nina, Benthe, Fleur, Danny and Mijntje.
Third Episode
The young talented acts that were auditioned during this third heat of auditions were: Elke, Thomas, Saïda, Kane, Hilde, Kaey, Joëlle, Lois, Bente, Jacob, Riley, Livia, Eva, Iris, Zahra and Larissa.
According to the national selection format implemented a total of four acts will reach eventually the national final stage. The four finalists could be either solo acts or pre-existing groups or groups formed by the producers within the framework of the selection.
The Netherlands in Junior Eurovision
The Netherlands has been participating in the contest since day 1 in 2003 and haven’t missed a year. In 2009 they won the competition and have achieved nine times to finish in the top 10 places. The country’s worst place came in 2015 when it finished 15th. In 2018 the country was represented by the duo Max & Anne and their entry Samen, which finished in 13th place with 91 points.
In 2019, Matheu represented the nation in Gliwice with his song "Dans met jou" which finished in the 4th place with 186 points. In 2020 the girl group UNITY won the national final and represented the nation in Warsaw, Poland with their song 'Best Friends' which finished 4th, the second fourth placing for the county in a row.
Last year in Paris, Ayana, represented the nation with the song “Mata Sugu Aō Ne” who finished scoring a total of 43 points.
