France: Lissandro the Junior Eurovision 2022 representative singing “Oh Maman!” (Oh Mum!)

  • Lissandro has been selected to defend the French colours at Junior Eurovision in Yerevan, Armenia on December 11, 2022.

    French broadcaster France 2 has internally selected 13-year old Lissandro to represent France at Junior Eurovision 2022 performing the song “Oh Maman!” (Oh Mum!).

    The French young talented act stated on his Junior Eurovision participation: 

    “I am very proud and honoured to represent France with my song, from both the pop and rock universe at the same time that I have always loved!

    And what a pride to be part of the wonderful Eurovision family. I will give my best to make France’s colours shine.”

     

    The Head of the French Delegation Alexandra Redde-Amiel says on Lissandro's selection:

    ‘We are happy to welcome Lissandro in the big family of the Junior Eurovision. A young artist full of talent to defend the colours of France in Armenia.”

     

    A few words for Lissandro

    Lissandro is 13 years old and comes from Théding in Moselle in eastern France. Lissandro is inspired by the world of rock, withhis references ranging from Elvis Presley to Bruno Mars

    In 2020, he took part in the 7th edition of the Voice Kids France where here reached the final show. In the same edition was Enzo who represented France last year on home soil in Paris with 'Tic-Tac'.

    Barbara Pravi, who was the Eurovision 2021 representative for France and has been involved in Eurovision and Junior Eurovision events since 2018, co-writing 10 songs for national finals, internal selections, and actual selected songs, has partially penned his Junior Eurovision entry “Oh Maman!” (Oh Mum!) which you can check out below: 

     

    France in Junior Eurovision

    France participated in the Junior Eurovision first time in 2004, when Thomas Pontier represented the country with “Si on voulait bien”  and finished 6th . After that edition the country withdrew and stayed absent until the 2018 edition, when they returned with Angélina and the song Jamais Sans Toi which finished in the honorable 2nd place with 203 points.

    In 2019 the nation was represented by Carla who 5th place in Gliwice, with the song “Bim Bam Toi”.  In the  2020 edition of the compeition in Warsaw, Poland Valentina's winning performance of 'J'Imagine'  that brought the trophy to France for the first time.

    Last year Enzo represented the nation on home soil in Paria performing in 'La Seine Musicale' the song 'Tic-Tac' which finished in the honorable 3rd place receiving a total of 187 points.
