Albania: Kejtlin Gjata selected for Junior Eurovision 2022

Kejtlin Gjata will be flying the flag for Albania at Junior Eurovision 2022 in Yerevan, Armenia after winning the national final Junior Fest 2022.
The Albanian public television, RTSH, broadcaste this evening T the national final. The show took place and was recorded in the capital city of Tirana while the outcome was determined by a jury.
A total of 19 acts competed in Junior Fest 2022 with the outcome of the show been determined by jury voting.
Namely the acts that took part in the national final were:
- Alesja Uruçi – “Qyteti im” (My city)
- Armela Kosta – “Ndriço” (Light up)
- Armela Shane – “Shqipëria ime” (My Albania)
- Ajshel Zykollari – “Syhëna Rozali”
- Biornis Maxhallaku – “Emocione për dy zemra” (Emotions for two hearts)
- Dea Amoniku – “Nuk jemi lodër për asnjeri” (We are nobody’s toy) – 2nd
- Eisi Mehmeti – “Dilemat” (Dilemmas)
- Ejza Hoxha – “Plot ëndrra jetën e dua” (I love a life full of dreams)
- Erta Jonuzi – “Premtim” (Promise) – 3rd
- Irsa Mashi – “Dua të besoj” (I want to believe)
- Kei Piqani – “Shoqja ime më e mirë” (My best friend)
- Keit Hitaj – “Yjet e shpresës” (The stars of hope)
- Kejtlin Gjata – “Pakëz diell” (A little sun) – 1st
- Noemi Pjetra – “Simfoni” (Symphony)
- Sara Elshani – “Adoleshentët” (Teenagers)
- Sibora Teqja – “Ne jemi paqja që sundon në botë” (We are the peace that rules the world)
- Sindi Zeka – “Botë bardhezi” (Black and white world)
- Viola Beshiri – “Qielli i moshës sime” (The sky of my age)
- Melodi Heta – “Balerinë do bëhem” (I will become a ballerina)
Once all performance were completed and the votes were in Kejtlin Gjata was declared winner with her song Pakëz diell” (A little sun) leaving 2nd behind Dea Amoniku and in 3rd place Erta Jonuzi.
Albania in Junior Eurovision
Albania has been taking part in Junior Eurovision since 2012 and has missed out the edition in 2013 and 2014. The best result came in 2015 when the country finished 5th with Mishela Rapo singing Dambaje while in 2018 Efi Gjika who finished 17th with her entry Barbie and in 2019 in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland, where Isea Çili finished 17th with “Mikja ime fëmijëri”.
While the country withdrew in 2022 from the competition in Warsaw, last year they retunred with Anna Gjebrea singing in Paris “Stand by You” which finished 14th with 84 points.
