Junior Eurovision 2021: Paris to host the 19th Junior Eurovision on December 19

  • The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and France Télévisions have announced that Paris will be the official Host City for the 2021 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest set for December 19, 2021.

    During a special joint press conference the EBU and the national French broadcaster confirmed that the 19th edtion of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Paris on December 19, 2021.

    Following Valentina's victory in last year's Junior Eurovision in Warsaw, Poland France Télévisions confirmed right away that they plan to host the next edition of the contest. Apart from the host city and the date the French broadcaster unveiled the venue of the next competition. 

    The 19th Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place on Sunday 19 December at the La Seine Musicale - a spectacular concert hall located on Île Seguin (Seguin Island) on the Seine river. The venue which opened in 2017 has already become an iconic cultural attraction in the city bringing music to all audiences.

    The Slogan

    This year's Junior Eurovision slogan will be the word 'Imagine'. 

    A simple and effective slogan, chosen for several reasons. First of all, for the echoes of Valentina's song that won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Warsaw last year.It is also the ground of creation, of the incitement to dream. It is the playground of the mind to build a better world, a new world. The power to imagine is infinite, especially for children. And it is something we need more than ever today.

    Martin Österdahl, Executive Supervisor of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, is delighted at the announcement:

    'It’s exciting to be returning to the French capital with a Eurovision event for the first time in over 40 years. The team at France Télévisions have the passion, dedication and energy to create a fantastic show in December where talented young artists can shine and “imagine” they will win the Junior Eurovision trophy.'

    Director of Entertainment and Variety at France Télévisions, Alexandra Redde-Amiel says:

    Next December, for the first time in 43 years, France will host an Eurovision event!! A wonderful project! The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is an incredible new challenge for us to produce an authentic show, and especially for me as Executive Producer! The Junior Eurovision Song Contest represents the cultural diversity of our young audience in Europe and that means a lot to me. We will be fully involved to offer a great, unique and ambitious show in Paris.

     

    Valentina won last year's contest with the song 'J'Imagine' in Warsaw, Poland. Lets remember her winning performance :
