Junior Eurovision 2020: Wales withdraws from this year'scontest

The Welsh national broadcaster, S4C, has confirmed that it will not participate in the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest set to take place in Warsaw due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The consequences from the covid-19 outbreak that has hit the globe have no end. S4C announced through its official twitter account that the national will not be taking part in this year's Junior Eurovision due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Wales' decision marks the first country that took part last year and will not be returning in this year's competition. The broadcaster will not be broadcasting the show and has not unveiled its intentions for next year Junio Eurovision.
Wales in Junior Eurovision
Wales has a short history in the competition as the nation participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2018 and 2019. Welsh broadcaster Sianel Pedwar Cymru (S4C) is responsible for the country's participation in the contest.
In 2018 and 2019, S4C selected their artist through the televised national final Chwilio am Seren (English: Search for a Star), with the song selected internally.[1] In both years, the competition was held at Venue Cymru in Llandudno.
In 2018 the country was represented by the song "Perta" performed by Manw, placing last in a field of 20 songs with 29 points. Wales participate in the 2019 contest, represented by the song "Calon yn Curo" performed by Erin Mai and finished 18th with 35 points.
