Junior Eurovision 2022: Germany confirms participation in Yerevan

  • Germany has confirmed that they will be participating in the 20th editon of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest next December in Yerevan, Armenia. 

    According to ESC-Plus Germany will be present in Armenia for Junior Eurovision 2022, making the country's third participation in the competition's history. The children's channel KiKa has been responsible for the Junior Eurovision participaition the previous two years. 

    Although details on the format KiKa will choose in order to detemine the German representative will come to light over the following weeks, Germany has used in 2020 an internal casting process while in 2021 a preselection show was held to select the next Junior Eurovision entry. 

    The 20th edition of Junior Eurovision is set to take place in Yerevan, Armenia on December 11, 2022, following Malena Fox's victory with the song 'Qami Qami'.  

     

     

    Germany in Junior Eurovision

    In 2022 Germany made its debut appearance in the competition. The nation was represened by Susan with the song "Stronger With You" which finished in 12th place with 66 points. Last year Pauline was selected through a national final to represent the country singing 'Imagine us' which finished 17th on the overall scoreboard.
