Germany: KiKa withdraws from Junior Eurovision

Germany will not be taking part in the 20th edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, Armenia.
The German broadcaster, KiKa, has confirmed to Eurovoix, that Germany will be taking a break this year from Junior Eurovision and will not be participating at the competition that is set to take place on December 11, 2022 in Armenia's capital city, Yerevan.
According to the broadcaster's statement, one of the reasons for such decision is Germany's Foreign Office travel warnings on Armenia as a destination. Nevertheless, KiKa will be broadcasting the live show on December 11.
Germany in Junior Eurovision
In 2020 Germany made its debut appearance in the competition. The nation was represened by Susan with the song "Stronger With You" which finished in 12th place with 66 points. Last year Pauline was selected through a national final to represent the country singing 'Imagine us' which finished 17th on the overall scoreboard.
