Georgia: Ranina to kick off on September 11

  • Ranina, the show through which Georgia is selecting its Junuor Eurovision entries will hit our screens for one more year on September 11, 2020. 

    Ranina is returning for one more edition in order to select Georgia Junior Eurovision 2020 participation. The show that will unwind over eight rounds, a semi final and one grand final show is set to hit the screens on September 11

    The show will include four thematic rounds with two episodes for each round. In all round a three membered jury will assess the 10 candidates while in each thematic round there will be a different jury. The five acts that receive the most points during these 8 heats will qualify to the semi final round. From the 5 semi finalists three acts will pass to the grand final show, from which one will be selected to represent Georgia at Junior Eurovision 2020.

    Georgia in Junior Eurovision 

    Georgia participated first time in Junior Eurovision in 2007. The country has won the contest 3 times , namely in 2008, 2011 and 2016. Out of 12 participations it has finished in a top 10 placing 11 times while the worst result came in 2014 when Georgia finished 11th. In 2018 Tamar Edilashvili represented the country with the song Your Voice, which came 8th with a total of  144 points.

    Last year Giorgi Rostiashvili won the ticket to represent Georgia in Poland with the song  entitled We Need Love that finished 14th with 69 points, the worst result up to date.
