Albania: RTSH goes internal for Junior Eurovision 2021

  • The Albanian national broadcaster,. RTSH,  will  opt for an internal selection in order to determine the country's Junior Eurovision 2021 hopeful. 

    According to a report on Eurostar RTSH will be selecting the nation's representative internally marking the first time that Albania will not be selecting its Junior Eurovision act through a national final since their debut in the contest back in 2012.

    In addition RTSH has confirmed to Eurovoix that they will not be using 'Junior Fest' to determine their Junior Eurovision act and will opt for an internal selection. 

    RTSH will shortly be making an open call for songs, inviting acts interested to represent the country at Junior Eurovision 2021 in Paris this December to send in their music proposals.

    Junior Eurovision is set to take place on December 19, 2021 in Paris at the La Seine Musicale  with a total of 19 countries taking part in the 19th edition. 

     

    Albania in Junior Eurovision

    Albania has been taking part in Junior Eurovision since 2012 and has missed out the edition in 2013 and 2014. The best result came in 2015 when the country finished 5th with Mishela Rapo singing Dambaje while in 2018 Efi Gjika who finished 17th with her entry Barbie and in 2019 in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland,  where Isea Çili finished 17th with “Mikja ime fëmijëri”. The country withdrew last year from the competition in Warsaw.
