Eurojury 2020: Iceland crowned winner by a one point lead from Switzerland

  • Iceland has been crowned winner of Eurojury 2020 , the online contest held my Eurovoix in collaboration with a signficant number of Eurovision sites . 

    The 2020 edition of  Eurojury has reached to its end with Eurovoix along with several ESC media outlets crowing winner the Icelandic ESC  entry, “Think about things” performed by  Daði og Gagnamagnið.  

    In order to reach the Eurojury final, two semi final voting heats  determined the 10 acts  that qualified in the final round where they met the Big -5 countries and The Netherlands as host  ESC 2020 host nation. 180 jurors from 42 countries contributed along with the public vote to determine the Eurojury 2020 result. The jurors' body was made up by past ESC participants, musicians and music experts and influenced  the final score with a 50% share, while the public vote with the rest 50%.

    This is how the overall scoreboard looked like once all votes were counted:

    Iceland won Eurojury 2020 only with a lead of 1 point  only(440 points) ahead of  the 2nd runner up,  Switzerland  with 339 points. Malta achieved a 3rd placing with 366 points while Sweden and Lithuania complete the top 5 places respectively.

    Notable the different results between the jury and the public voting as in the top 3 places in each voting we see six different countries. Further more the winning country, Iceland came first in the jury voting while  4th in the public vote,  whiere the runner up , Switzerland wins the first place but comes 6th in the jury voting.
