Norway: KEiiNO and TIX release their MGP 2021 songs

The first two of the Melodi Grand Prix 2021 Grand Final competing entries have gone public, as KEiiNO and TIX release their song for the Norwagian ESC 2021 national final.
KEiiNO and TIX are two out of the six acts that have pre-qualified to the Grand final of Melodi Grand Prix 2021, the show that will determine the Norwegian hopeful for Eurovision 2021.
KEiiNO
KEiino who represented Norway at Eurovision 2019 ambition to reach once again the Eurovision stage this time with their song titled 'Monument'.
KEiiNO has always been open to the possibility of performing in MGP again, if the right song came up, and it seems the time is now. "Monument" is about the traces we leave behind, the experiences you remember, the strong relationships. It is a tribute to those who enrich the lives of others, but who do not get statues erected or streets named after them.
Composers and authors of the song are Tom Hugo Hermansen, Fred Buljo, Alexandra Rotan, Alexander Nyborg Olsson, Rüdiger Schramm.

A few words for KEiiNO
Keiino is three member group formed by Alexandra Rotan, Tom Hugo and Fred Buljo. The group was formed especially for Melodi Grand Prix 2019 and Eurovision to follow, while their name in the language of Sami (from who Fred comes from) means “road” and according to Fred Buljo it stands for the road that brought the members together as a group.
The trio won the Norwegian national final 2019 and flew over to Tel Aviv for Eurovision 2019 with their entry " Spirit in the Sky" . Spirit in the sky is α Rhythmic pop dance song with Joik elements, the traditional music of Sami. The biggest part of the song is written in English with the addition of the sentence, ” Čajet dan čuovgga” which in the language of Sami means “Show me the light”. The song is inspired by the fights made for equal rights regarding either national or religious minorities, or gender equality or for the rights of the LGTB community.
KEiiNO made a powerful energetic performance in Tel Aviv and achieved to top the televoting while in the overall score fiinished at the honorable 6th place in the grand final.
TIX
The second prequalified act to release his entry is, TIX, aka Andreas Haukeland, who will participate in the final of MGP 2021 with the song 'Ut Av Mørket'. The song has been penned by Andreas himself.
A few words about TIX
TIX, or Andreas Haukeland as he is actually called, one of Norway's greatest artists. Andreas says that the character with fur, sunglasses and headband was named TIX as a result of growing up with the diagnosis Tourette's syndrome. He chose to take ownership of the nickname and made it his artist name.
In 2015, he had his first major breakthrough with the Russian song "Sheikh" which became the party song of the year for the Russians. His first album "Doomed and Famous" was over 70 weeks on the VG list.
In 2018, TIX took his next step on the road to becoming Norway's biggest pop star when he released his first non-russel song, "Shotgun". At the same time, he distinguished himself as a songwriter at home and abroad with the world hit ‘Sweet but Psycho’ with Ava Max, which became the most played song of the year.
Since then, TIX has had as many as seven songs as number 1 on Spotify in Norway. During the corona spring 2020, the song "Karantene" became public property overnight and at the beginning of May he had as many as 11 songs in the top 200 in Norway.
Ahead of the first semi final the four acts that will compete in the first heat were unveiled earlier in the week:

MGP 2021 dates
The Norwegian national selection will commence on January 16 with the first semi final show and will continue to unfold over six weeks, concluding on February 20 with the Grand final.
