Eurovision 2021: Nijmegen added to the postcard locations

  • One more Eurovision 2021 postcard location has been unveiled, as Nijmegen is the latest location to be confirmed for this year's postcards. 

    With less than 6 weeks to go until the first live show Eurovision from Rotterdam Ahoy, the organisers are in full steam making all the necessary preparations among which the 39 different postcards: the introductory films via which all performances are announced. 

    One more location has been unveiled to the previous nine we know so far and that is Waalhaven in Nijmegen. The Waalhaven , also known as Nieuwe Haven , is a port in the Dutch city ​​of Nijmegen . The port is located on the Waal , just past the Nieuwe Hezelpoort and right next to the Railway Bridge .

    So far a total of  places have been confirmed as this year's postcard locations. These are: 

    • South Holland lighthouse (Westhoofd), Ouddorp
    • Evoluon, Eindhoven
    • Frisian Nannewiid
    • Beach at Vlissingen
    • Kloeveniersdoelen in Middelburg
    • Sparta Stadion In Rotterdam 
    • Schiphol Airport
    • Nature reserve in Markermeer
    • PM terminal Maasvlakte II in Port of Rotterdam
    • Waalhaven, Nijmegen

    Postcards are the small clips that are shown between the songs during the contest and helps us to know the performer of each country and showcase the local beauties of the host nation, but also to give the organizers the necessary time to prepare the stage for the next contestant. 

    For this year's contest a total of 400 locations across The Netherlands were submitted as potential locations for the Eurovision Song Contest postcards with the majority of them coming from South Holland and Drenthe. 

    The 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will see 39 nations taking part in the competition in Rotterdam the live shows of which are set to take place on May 18,20 and 22.
