Denmark: Fyr & Flamme win Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2021 and will fly to Rotterdam
Denmark has spoken and they determined their new Eurovision representative for Rotterdam. Fyr & Flamme won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2021 national final and will represent the nation at Eurovision 2021.
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix took place in DR's Studio 5 at the headquarters of the broadcaster.Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Dansk Grand Prix party was held this year without an audience. The national final was hosted by Tina Müller and Martin Brygman. Andreas Odbjerg was the show's interval act performing the Danish Eurovision 1995 entry.
A total of eight acts competed in this evening's national final aiming to win the right to represent the country at the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam next May.
The 8 contestants took to the stage according to the following running order:
1. Chief 1 & Thomas Buttenschøn - 'High above the clouds'
2. Nanna Olivia - 'Hvileløse hjerter'
3. The Cosmic Twins - 'Silver Bullet'
4.Claudia Campagnol - 'Abracadabra'
5.Mike Tramp - 'Everything Is Alright'
6.Fyr og Flamme - Øverst på hinanden
7.Emma Nicoline - Står lige her
8.Jean Michel - 'Beautiful'
All competing acts will have the support of a 15 member live orchestra under the music guidance of Peter Dü. Unlike previous years, there is no professional jury in this year's Grand Prix final - all the power was in the viewers's hands. The voting included two round with the first three acts with the most votes in the fist round advancing to the Superfinal round.
The three acts that advanced to the Superfinal round are:
- Fyr & Flamme – Øve os på hinanden
- Chief 1 & Thomas Buttenschøn – Højt over skyerne
- Jean Michel – Beautiful
The final results crowned winners the duo Fyr & Flamme who will represent Denmark in Rotterdam with their song Øve os på hinanden.
