Azerbaijan: It's Fahree for Eurovision 2024

Azerbaijan's national broadcaster, Ictimai TV, has confirmed Fahree as the nation's representative at Eurovision 2024 in Malmo, Sweden.
Fahree will have the honour to represent the Land of Fire at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo, Sweden the upcoming May.
Fahree was selected through an internal selection process. Upon confirming their participation in the 2024 contest, İTV opened a submission window for interested artists and songwriters, lasting until 30 September 2023.Perfomers without a song could not apply individually. Songs could be submitted in any language, and their authors are not required to be Azerbaijani nationals.A total of 214 song submissions were received by İTV, 88 of which were from Azerbaijani artists.
By 20 October 2023, sixteen acts were selected to take part in an audition round in Baku on 29 October 2023, when İTV announced the names of the fifteen auditioned artists (one was unable to take part). The acts were judged by a panel which included 2009 Azerbaijani representative Aysel Teymurzadeh and Eurovision 2011 winners Ell and Nikki,as well as composers Faig Sujaddinov and Vagif Gerayzadeh, art director Ranar Musayev, and music producer DJ Fateh.
On 6 November 2023, six artists were announced to have passed the auditions, shown below in bold. The Azerbaijani representative was chosen after consultations with focus groups of Eurovision fans, journalists and music professionals.
Fahree's song is expected to go public in due course.
Azerbaijan in Eurovision
The Land of fire debuted in the contest in 2008 and since then they have been present in every single edition of it, counting a totla of 13 participation. In 2011 The duo Eldar & Nikki gave the country its one and only victory with their entry Running scared, leading the Eurovision event next year in the capital city of Baku.
While Efendi's Eurovision 2020 journey was interrupted due to the coronavirus outbreak and never had the chance to perform 'Cleopatra' in Rotterdam, iTV decide to stick with the same act this year, giving her the chance to complete her mission in ESC 2021.Efendi flew to Rotterdam where she competed in the first semi final performing 'Mata Hari' and after qualifying to the Grand final she finished 20th with 65 points.
For 2022 Nadir Rustemli was internally selected to fly the flag in Turin where he performed the song 'Fade to black', which came 16th in the Grand final receiving a total of 106 points ( 103 from the jury vote and 3 from televoting).
Last year, TuralTuranX represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Tell Me More”. They finished 14th in the first semi-final with 4 points, leaving Azerbaijan out of the final for the second time in history and the first time since 2018.
