Azerbaijan: Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovlatov releases Eurovision 2024 entry “Özünlə Apar”

Azerbaijan's Eurovision 2024 hopeful, Fahree featuring Ilkin Dovlatov has released the song for Eurovision 2024 titled “Özünlə Apar”.
Last but not least the Land of Fire has released their song for Eurovision 2024. Following the announcement of Fahree as the nation's Eurovision 2025 hopeful alogside with Ilkin Dovlatov the release of “Özünlə Apar” concluded this year's line-up of songs.
Fahree was selected through an internal selection process. After a internal process which saw a total of 214 song submissions among which 88 from Azerbaijan, the case came down to six artists. The Azerbaijani representative was chosen after consultations with focus groups of Eurovision fans, journalists and music professionals.
“Özünlə Apar” translates 'Take it with you' in English. The song is performed in Azerbaijani and English which marks the first time the country feature their national language in a Eurovision entry.
A few words for Fahree and Ilkin
Fakhri Ismayilov born 10 April 1995)known professionally as Fahree, is an Azerbaijani singer and songwriter.
Fahree was born in 1995 in Baku. He was raised in an artistic family, his father being a jazz drummer and his grandfather being an actor. He has both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in law. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he devoted himself more to music and pursued his childhood dream of becoming a musician.In 2022, Fahree released his debut single, "Dance". He later on went to release two more singles.
Ilkin Dovlatov also took part in this year's the Azerbaijani Eurovision selection along with Mila Miles and Etibar Əsədli and the song “İnsanlar” (People). He got in the spotlight of fame after achieving a second place on the first season of Səs Azərbaycan. Doğma Nəğmələr (The Voice of Azerbaijan: Native Songs).
Azerbaijan in Eurovision
The Land of fire debuted in the contest in 2008 and since then they have been present in every single edition of it, counting a totla of 13 participation. In 2011 The duo Eldar & Nikki gave the country its one and only victory with their entry Running scared, leading the Eurovision event next year in the capital city of Baku.
While Efendi's Eurovision 2020 journey was interrupted due to the coronavirus outbreak and never had the chance to perform 'Cleopatra' in Rotterdam, iTV decide to stick with the same act this year, giving her the chance to complete her mission in ESC 2021.Efendi flew to Rotterdam where she competed in the first semi final performing 'Mata Hari' and after qualifying to the Grand final she finished 20th with 65 points.
For 2022 Nadir Rustemli was internally selected to fly the flag in Turin where he performed the song 'Fade to black', which came 16th in the Grand final receiving a total of 106 points ( 103 from the jury vote and 3 from televoting).
Last year, TuralTuranX represented Azerbaijan at Eurovision 2023 with the song “Tell Me More”. They finished 14th in the first semi-final with 4 points, leaving Azerbaijan out of the final for the second time in history and the first time since 2018.
