New design for the national selection in Ukraine which will be determining the Eurovision 2024 hopeful.
Suspilne presented a new design for the National Selection for Eurovision 2024. New brand for the selection through which Ukrainians will choose the best song to defend the Ukrainian colors in Malmo mext year at Eurovision 2024.
Suspilne's design team has developed the concept of the "Musical DNA of the Nation", which combines three important symbols: the heart is the logo of the Eurovision Song Contest; musical waves, as the unbridled energy of vibration from sound waves; and a stylized image of DNA, as an allusion to the dance of lines, musical waves and vibrations.
Vlad Khodakivskyi, Head of the Design Department of the Public Broadcasting Promotion and Design Department stated:
"Developing the idea of the 'Musical DNA of the Nation', we have created a modern visual style that can change its forms: emotional, dynamic and lively, just like the Eurovision show itself."
The visual system of the new identity is flexible and dynamic. The brightness and dynamism of the lines focuses the viewer's attention, maintains visual tension and emotional activity, and emphasizes belonging to a large-scale show in all its manifestations.
- HEART — the musical wave unfolds, echoes from the depths — from the very heart;
- MUSICAL WAVES - Lines as you move give a sense of rhythm, volume, and vibration from a sound wave;
- DNA — waves through the "dance of lines" resemble in style DNA — the image of stability, heredity and unity.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Eurovision Song Contest, Oksana Skybinska, noted that the new design of the National Selection conveys the essence of the song contest.
"Our goal was to create a single design for the National Selection for several years. So that Ukrainian National Selection is recognizable to both Ukrainians and international audiences at first sight and first sound. Therefore, it was important for us to reflect the essence of this project in the design: the National Selection opens songs in which the musical DNA of the nation is encoded in order to present the character of current Ukrainian music on the international music scene."
This year, Suspilne received 389 applications for participation in the National Selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. The longlist of participants, which will be published by November 9, will be presented by no more than 20 performers. Its participants will audition, according to the results of which up to 10 finalists will be selected. Among the participants of the longlist who will not be included in the list of finalists, a rating online vote will be held, which will determine another participant of the final.
The final of the National Selection will take place in February 2024 in the format of a television concert. As in previous years, the winner of the National Selection will be determined by the results of the vote of the jury and the audience. The composition of the star jury of the final will be chosen by Ukrainians through online voting.
